Safari Support

Is there a reason that WetPaint hasn't updated their code to work with Safari (it used to work fine once upon a time, and then you turned it off)? Please don't try to tell me that it is Safari's fault (there are plenty of other wiki sites that do editing similar to WetPaint that work just fine with Safari, why do they work and you don't).I'd hate to have to delete my WetPaint site and move just because a lot of my users prefer Safari. Also, I think that since the iPhone uses Safari as it's code base, and so does Google Chrome (do you not work in Google Chrome?), it is something that you should get resolved soon. Much of the editing functionality in Safari hasn't been supported for more than two years. Safari's built-in editing tools work differently than IE and Firefox, and requires quite a bit of effort to get working, and even then there are still problems.Safari works for basic editing, making posts, adding photos and videos, and site administration. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. How is it that pbwiki works with Safari and Wetpaint doesn't? Isn't wysiwyg content management pretty standard by now?

Pbwiki works well with Safari because Pbwiki does not have advanced css. I know this because I volunteer at a school that makes wikis with it.

Yes I am facing the same problem with safari as everything is fine but when I try to edit a page everything goes hay wire. It looks very silly that such reputed companies are not able the handle the things.Video quality of Safari is far better than other browsers but when I go for editing it make me just pull my hair. I have also send my views to apple people. Do you find this valuable? |

"How is it that pbwiki works with Safari and Wetpaint doesn't? Isn't wysiwyg content management pretty standard by now?"Wetpaint uses a what you see is what you get interface (WYSIWYG). Pbwiki has a more basic editing system that Safari can handle. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

You might want to look at PB Wiki again...it also supports CSS with a WYSIWG editor...http://pbworks.com/features.wiki Even Google Sites works with Safari. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Eventually. Safari not being compatible with Wetpaint is currently Apple's fault, as they permanent security settings on Safari do not permit editing on Wetpaint.I found this out by talking to Apple about this. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

.I started my first wetpaint wiki July 4 2008. I am very fond of wetpaint, but I have to be practical. I travel a lot and want to use an iPad. Safari is the only browser on iPad. I do not think I am unique. iPad is very popular, even with non-Apple people. It has sold over 4 million, and it's not even Xmas, yet. There are all those people out there who have them, and can't edit wetpaint. Isn't there something you can do about it? I am reluctantly looking for another wiki farm, 60% because of the Safari issue, and 40% because the ads on wetpaint have just become too pervasive, too intrusive, and too aggressive, and the cost of getting rid of them is too expensive. How about an option of paying less and just getting rid of some of the worst ones? . Do you find this valuable? |

Sorry 'bout the "necromancy" -- I have deleted the URL. Thanks for answering so promptly -- that's one of the things I love about WP. And, I just noticed that the ads are much toned-down now. They're OK again. Safari is also the only browser on the iPhones & iPods, but it's not so critical there because they are not good editing devices, anyway. Please tell us if we can help the Safari-issue by lobbying Apple. . Do you find this valuable? |

If anyone wants to lobby Apple to work w/ WetPaint, you can put suggestions on the iPad section: http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html- you can put the same suggestion into three categories: enhancement request software/hardware compatibility connectivity/interoperablity flame on .
