I think perhaps a Q and A might help here on the money issue

Does it cost money to register?

Do you pay a monthly hosting fee to say GoDaddy?

Do you pay an annual domain fee GoDaddy?

What I think people want know is how much it the initial cost and how much do they have to pay anyone GoDaddy, wetpaint, etc on an ongoing basis

You have to pay an annual fee to GoDaddy.
Otherwise, Wetpaint is free. Do you find this valuable?
