Can't send email to members!

I see lots of discussion about this problem but no answers.
When i click on a member profile icon and click on Send Message it open the email box with the member name in it but then a red x appears next to that name. When I mouse over the X it says "can't send email". It does that to everyone.
I am the creator and administrator of the site.
I NEED people to be able to email each other!!

First, our Peer-to-Peer messages are not emails. They're messages within the Wetpaint system, and specific to the site they're sent on.

When I mouse over the little red X on mine, it says "Remove". The X is so that you can remove a specific recipient. Do you find this valuable?

but sometimes when I click SEND it says it cannot send email to the person??? Do you find this valuable?

Are there specific people that you aren't able to send to? Do you find this valuable?
