Your "About Wetpaint" Pages

At http://www.wetpaint.com/page/About most of the pages that you link to ("About Us," "What is Wetpaint," "Wetpaint Features," "What Is a Social Website?" etc.) have a big empty space.

For example, I send my students to http://www.wetpaint.com/page/About to learn more about what a wiki is. When you open this page (and others) it appears that there's nothing there, until you scroll down and see that the information is all at the bottom of the page beneath a big empty space.

This seems like something that is, perhaps, easy to fix and maybe that no one has noticed.

Just thought I would try to let someone know. By the way, I love Wetpaint! Thanks for providing such a wonderful service--and for free! :)

As you can see from the screenshot, the page you referred to displays correctly: http://img399.imageshack.us/my.php?image=wetpaintaboutkc8.png

Try clearing your browser cache and cookies.

Hmmm. Thanks for the response. I wonder how come the pages look like this (here's a screenshot: http://mdbabin.googlepages.com/WetpaintScreenCapture.pdf) when I view the pages?

I wonder if it's a widescreen issue. Nonetheless, the information is still there, I just have to scroll down to see it. I will try emptying my casche and cookies, but I don't think that's the issue. I clear them often.

Anyway, it was more of an FYI than an irriation for me. Just thought someone might like to know. It's good to hear that it's not really an issue and that most of my students can see the page just fine.

Thanks!

it might have something to do with IE7 which you're using. I noticed you've got two Search bars for Google and probably because Yahoo will be one of the options in the default IE7 search tool layout, that's going to be duplicated as well. You could consider removing the default one, instructions on this site and see if that makes any difference: http://www.intelliadmin.com/blog/2006/12/remove-search-bar-from-ie-7.html

Thanks for the tip! When I reinstalled AVG recently, I accidentally installed the extra toolbar and have been too lazy to remove it. Now I have a motivation. :)

I've came across a similar problem with Firefox a short while back and managed to track down the cause of it to the font size I was using. In Firefox, you can change just about everything the way you want it so I was able to fix that one, but you're pretty limited to what you can do in IE, especially IE7. But you could try holding down CTRL while moving the mouse wheel backwards and forwards to see if it makes any difference.
