Questionable content

Dear Wetpaint,

We have started to get 'questionable content' messages on our site. Could you please help us to understand how to deal with these when we cannot find what is questionable?

There are sometimes false alarms on the Questionable Content. For example, if someone posted a thread mentioning how they work for Dick Jones, then that thread will be flagged as questionable. The site will generally raise the alarm if it comes across the usual swear words and things of that nature. Also, keep in mind that what is considered "questionable" can be somewhat subjective. It's ultimately up to the sites creator and moderators to decide what is allowable. 7  out of 7 found this valuable. Do you?

wetpaint,

on my site, warriors-territory.wetpaint.com, we have been getting questionable content messages constantly. The same user over and over, Huns135, has done nothing 'questionable'. they only edit pages. this is a growing problem on warriors territory. please help!

There are two pages on warriors-territory that are listed as having questionable language. In both cases it seems to be the word "suck/sucks" that is being flagged. On one page it was added by Huns135, and on the other by rachielass1.

There's currently no way to disable our generic questionable language filtering, or to remove pages from the Questionable Language list without finding and deleting all the (possibly innocent) words which got them there. But you should be able to disable the automatic notifications by going to Settings/Communication/Notifications, and clearing the checkbox next to "Notify me when someone either flags a photo or reports content as questionable." This is a separate setting for each of the site's administrators, so each admin who doesn't want to get these notifications will have to make this change.

If you do disable this notification setting, you will not be notified of actual, objectionable instances of questionable language. So the best course of action may be to leave the setting as it is, scan pages when you get these notifications, and then just delete/ignore the notifications if you don't find anything you consider offensive.
