change name and banner logo to template site

I chose the friendly template for my site. Now I want to change the image or logo. When I upload it doesn't resize properly even using suggested pixel dimensions. Any clues for how to fix this problem? Do you find this valuable?

I am not sure... some images might not work. Do you find this valuable?
