Teacher Control of Student Content

My concerns probably indicate that I'm not ready for a class wiki, but the benefits supersede the worries. I want more control of what my students post. For example, the filtering system on classblogmeister.com that allows teachers view contributions before they get published would be ideal.
It would also be beneficial to be able to remove the "found valuable" and private messaging options. (I fear cyber bullying could ensue here.)
Also, a way for students to upload documents to save to their profiles as a sort of portfolio would be awesome.

I completely agree... I gave a test run of wet paint with my students last year and found it to almost be more hassle than its worth, as I had to constantly be checking to make sure that my students weren't posting things they shouldn't. It's also very difficult to clean the website, as in after the year is over it is difficult to delete mass threads and to drop members (which I have not yet found to be possible... only banning is, which takes a very long time to ban all past students). I love the idea of having a class wiki, but the teacher does need much more control in order to maintain a safe educational environment. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?
