I know it is possible to lengthen the sidebar vertically, but is it also possible to make the sidebar wider? 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

i take that back.. there actually is a way.
it's called windows sidebar styler:
http://www.stoyanoff.info/blog/code/styler/

after having that installed, right click on the sidebar and u will have the option to "unlock" it, meaning u can mess around with the width
