CAN'T LOGIN
Sep 3 2008, 2:27 PM EDT
everytime i try to log in to my wiki, nothing happens. the log in page continues to come up.

and when i'm able to (finally!) log in, and i go to different pages, the wiki recognizes me as another user and i'm unable to edit.

anyone able to help me? this is maddeningly frustrating.

What is your username?
What browser and operating system are you using?
Are you on a school or work network that is using a proxy server by chance?

username is: nvaswani
i'm on a PC, windows, and am using mozilla firefox. another user on my wiki is using internet explorer and is having the same problems.
i'm on a work network, but we've had this wiki for over a year now, and it has never given us this many problems. sometimes we were forced to log in repeatedly in order to get in, but that was the extent of our problems. now, on top of having to continuously log in to get in the first time, the identities we are signed in as keep changing, and we therefore can't edit.

Wetpaint login is handle through cookies, so make sure you've got cookies enabled and no exceptions in place that would block them for the site. The switching of identities sounds like you are going through a server that is caching a page that one user visits and then serving back up to the other users when they hit that page. On sites that don't have log in this would make your web surfing faster, but on Wetpaint it doesn't work so well. You will probably need to talk to your network admin and see if they can disable the page caching on your end - at least for Wetpaint sites. Do you find this valuable?
