EasyEdit Tool Bar
Aug 18 2008, 8:51 PM EDT
The EasyEdit Tool Bar just keeps loading and loading. The toolbar never comes up. I have cleared all cookies, web history as well as internet histery. I also have disabled my firewall and virus protection. It did work fine when I first started the site, however when I went back to edit I lost my content and the was never able to edit the page. I am using IE 7 on with XP and the site is http://chicagowolesaledeals.wetpaint.com/

I am having the darndest time with it myself today! Although the tool bar is loading slow and the save has errors a LOT it does eventually work BUT.......It keeps dumping me off!!!!! In order to work on my site I have to "save" every few words to get anywhere. Soooo frustrating. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Wetpaint DID just do a revamp, right? Maybe that's what's causing this?

Falconwing is correct, we updated the website Monday night. Anyone who started experiencing problems like this since then should clear their browser cache and cookies and restart their browser before assuming that they're bugs in the software. If you've already done that, please respond with your OS and browser versions -- include browser plugins, because some of them (like Flash blockers) are known to cause problems with the current version of our site software. tentfire, could you explain what "dumping me off" means? ChicagoInvestorDeals, if you're still experiencing problems editing, please respond. Phil Wetpaint QA 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Sorry 'bout that....."dumping me off"- The computer I was using that day (my main one) was Vista and Internet Explorer. Navigation all over the Internet worked fine. Navigation all around my wetpaint site was fine. But as I was adding/editing I would type a little, then all of a sudden it completely shut my Internet down, then it came back up (on its own) to my default page. Each time I had to come back to my wetpaint site, log back in, and get back to the page I was working on. I was working on my Livestock For Sale section and the funny (and I am sure coincidental) thing was every time I typed "donkey or mule" on my link list is when it kicked me off! Yesterday I switched back to my old XP laptop and downloaded Firefox. Now my tables appear jumbled and I have to go back and resize them. Working in that right now. http://ammenagerie.wetpaint.com

Quietplease: IE6 on Windows 2000 is known to have severe problems with our javascript. I'm afraid that we have decided that we can no longer spend time working on problems that are specific to older and unsupported systems like Windows 2000. If you have a newer PC you can use, you'll have to switch to that. If you don't -- I'm very sorry.tentfire: Are you also running IE6 on an older (pre-XP) version of Windows? If so, it sounds like you're experience a crashing problem that we have seen occasionally. And if this is the case, I'm afraid my answer to you is the same as to Quietplease. My apologies for the differences in table handling between IE and Firefox: we've actually made this better in the last few releases, but we still have a way to go, and there are some features (like alignment) that Firefox simply does not support. Junita Lyon: The problem with giant dialogs was fixed this morning and you shouldn't see it any more. Phil 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Yep, I used to use Int Exp 7 and it could take forever to open a page. I have switched to Mozilla Firefox and it works much better.
