Problem Adding Photos to Profile Page
Aug 13 2008, 7:31 AM EDT Here's my Profile page: http://goldring.wetpaint.com/account/ShelliesStar OS = XP Pro IE7 Service Pack 3 and all other updates installed Registry Cleaned Defragged Cookies Cleaned Pop Up Blocker Turned Off I have no problems inserting the avatar...text or even inserting the tables...but when it comes to adding a photo this is where my problem is...I am wondering if the permissions are set incorrectly or something...I am including screenshots for you to better understand what I am trying to say...The first one is a copy of the add a photo window per the Wetpaint FAQ: http://h1.ripway.com/shelliesstar/1.jpg This next one is my easy edit tool bar which looks fine, but look at my add a photo window...it is missing most of it's functions: http://h1.ripway.com/shelliesstar/2.jpg Try as I might...and I have tried everything...I cannot find a way to get those pictures in there...the only other thing that happens is if I hit that add a photo button...I get the following message: http://h1.ripway.com/shelliesstar/3.jpg Now, I understand that message...but I can find no way to upload my pics...I am not computer illiterate...and I do have quite a bit of experience in adding content to a forum...granted this is a different format than what I am accustomed to...but I do understand the directions...for the life of me I can't get this one figured out...Some how I have got to be able to get the right window to appear...LOL One more thing...when I was originally working on my profile...I kept sensing the need to save a copy...but I neglected to listen...Then poof...everything was gone...!!! Aug 13 2008, 1:45 PM EDT Try updating the version of Flash that you have installed on your browser. Get it here: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash Let us know if that resolves the photo upload issue for you. Do you find this valuable? |

Aug 25 2008, 12:18 PM EDT As I have mentioned in my personal message Jason...I was successful in creating a profile including uploading pictures at another wiki using the Firefox browser...And have created one here using IE7...but sitll I cannot create one with uploaded photos at the original site regardless of which browser I use...and both have the latest version of Flash installed...Perhaps it is in the formatting of my profile page there...or the way my permissions are set...I have no idea...but here is the link for that page: http://goldring.wetpaint.com/account/ShelliesStar As I had mentioned earlier everything had disappeared in a flash when I was working on it orginally...and I have not been able to do much with it since...I can change the avatar...but that is the only photo feature that works for me on that particular site...One of the Admins was able to insert a picture on that page for me...but I cannot...I would truly appreciate your help in resolving this issue. Aug 25 2008, 2:02 PM EDT Strange, the screen shots you took look typical of what you would see using an incompatible version of Flash. Can you double check and see what version you have installed? Using Firefox type "about:plugins" in the address bar at the top and it should show the Shockwave Flash version. Do you find this valuable? |

Again...I have just created profiles on two other wikis within the last 24 hours...no problems what so ever...but still no go at the first one...:o( Do you find this valuable? |

Aug 25 2008, 6:32 PM EDT Our QA team is looking into this. We think it may be a bug related to the way the adding a photo interacts with the permissions as they are set on the site (it's invite only for editing). We should have more information soon. Do you find this valuable? |
