Thank you so much to EVERYBODY at WETPAINT!!!! The site is back and up and running again. You guys are wonderful. Creator now Admin of Mystic wolf warriors (That cant be helped) I Banned the fake too. I appreciate it thanks. 1  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

i dont understand how these people think, they make things such a big deal. 'jeremy' is saying theres nothing they can do and that they cant prove ur the real owner, but how can they prove that the other is the real person, eh!? kinda of a faulty loop there, 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

I think that Jason is correct here. Wetpaint is a very secure site and the password may have been handed out or guessed.

"This was not a "hack". Someone guessed a password. Wetpaint is as safe as you make it.

Please let this be a lesson to everyone. Your passwords need to be secure.
1. At least 6, preferably 8 characters or longer.
2. A mix of UPPERCASE, lowercase, 0-9, and !@#$%^&*()_+."

1. Jason is right, it wasn't a hack. It was what real hackers like to call a "crack".
2. You really should put your real email. That way, if something like this happened, you could easily get your account back.

One thing you can do to prevent hacks is use a different browser than IE. It has password security issues.

"Why cant someone make wetpaint safer for people to get on? I mean, thers sites all over being hacked. Mystic (1), Lunastar(2),Warrior Fansite (2-3) those are just a few probably, but I mean they shouldnt be hacked at all! Is there something that wetpaint can do by making it safe yet accessable to everyone?"

"Your definition of a "hack" differs from those of us who work in the computer industry. For us, a hack is a serious security breach of the applications or servers that we operate.

This is an example of a stolen password, not a hack of Wetpaint. The password was stolen and the site was vandalized. There was no "hacking" involved. Insisting on calling this a "hack" gives the person who perpetrated it too much credit, gives the person whose password was stolen too much absolution for their carelessness, and insults people who actually do hacking for a living.

Incidentally, if someone were to hack into our system, they wouldn't be able to see passwords. We store passwords encrypted and we can't even see what they are."
To the anonymous poster- I suggest you refrain from calling password guesses "hacks." It is very annoying to those of us who know anything about computer technology. I have delted your reply because it is a bunch of nonsense.

Before you start getting mad and making assumptions, you should try to see things from the other persons point of view. I am sure there are reasons why wetpaint cannot tell who the original creator was, and why they encrypt passwords.

Once again, this is a password guess not a hack. If your sister has lost her password, she can click the "I forgot my password" link in the login popup.
