OpenID "Drat!"
Jun 14 2008, 5:00 PM EDT Every time I try to sign-in with the openid address i used to create an account, I get an error message instead. My openid address works fine for other sites; using a different test server and address with the same script has also worked for creating an account here and signing in onto this site. I have changed openid.server and openid.delegate in the html file of the _same address_ i am trying to use because they were originally set to moronic values, ; ) so i will not revert them. if this change is the reason, will someone please help me in resolving this bug(?) that disallows such an arbitrary change; or delete my account with which i haven't made more than 1 or 0 posts with so that i can create a new account? thank you very much. the error is: "Drat! We encountered a problem with OpenID. It may have timed out or there may be some other problem. Try going back in your browser and trying again." temp32 -at- isall -dot- org Do you find this valuable? |

RE: OpenID "Drat!"
Jul 8 2008, 9:09 AM EDT btw, i'm sorry about the slow response, i was out of commission for a few weeks.. also i was wondering, is there a way to associate a password with the openid account, allowing me to have the full privileges of a normal account? thanks. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: OpenID "Drat!"
Jul 21 2008, 8:07 PM EDT little-me, you should still be able to sign in to dharmaoverground. Your membership here on wetpaintcentral was cancelled on April 12, so I can understand why you would have trouble signing in here, however. Which wiki are you having problems with? Regarding having "the full privileges of a normal account," you already do -- OpenID is equivalent to username/password authentication everywhere on a Wetpaint wiki except for creating a new wiki or resetting your password. We have run into some odd problems that seem to be specific to particular OpenID providers, but most that we've tested work with no problems. It's possible that sudoman.org is problematic for some reason. It seems to be your personal domain -- have you implemented your own OpenID provider service on it? RE: OpenID "Drat!"
Jul 23 2008, 9:33 AM EDT thanks for the reply. i was having trouble signing into the dharmaoverground despite being a member. sudoman.org is my own domain and i am using phpMyID. (http://phpmyid.com/) i moved the php files acting as the openid server into the root directory and now it works (for now). granted, it has worked before while NOT in the root directory, only to fail upon signing in a second time. my guess is that this fix is only temporarily working around a bug where some session information is not being cleared, that once one signs in, if they don't sign out again, then they can't sign back in again from another computer. proabably a bug or an oversight in the method of not allowing more than one log-in session from being active at once. ; ( will you please look into-this? thanks.
