"I think 4 the "who's online" thing it should be a little green button that turns red when someone is not on.
For the Photo galley thing r u going to make a feature where we can add multiple pics to a page??? That would be cool"
Although, it sounds very simple, it takes some hardware upgradation for wetpaint. I'm sure, they're working hard on it. We'll just have to be patient ...

Ok! By your so called "hardware upgradation". Hmmm....lets see...hardware upgradation....... im no website designer or software specialist. But im pretty sure that wetpaint don't need to upgrade whatever hardware your talking about. Just to make a small online/offline indicator. Just a few tweaks to those servers and bam!

p.s I hold my masters degree in computer engineering.

This guy's right. Although Wetpaint always takes a while to start noticing things, give them time.

Something so small is not so small indeed?????? Whatever you say Mr. Funny man.

I've been using the internet for a lllloooonnnngggg time now. i ssen features implemented in a heart beat. Not just small ones, but major ones. It does take some time correct. But with the right amount of people it only takes a fraction of the time. And wetpaint has an army.

Everyone at Wetpaint seems to be behind this idea, but it will take some hardware upgrades in order to implement it. As far as I can tell we would need a dedicated server to monitor every user's status, much like a live chat server. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I like where this person is getting to. If you guys would stop arguing, you might be able to do something around here.

Why not just use SiteMeter? As it has an "Who's Online" feature.
I currently use SiteMeter. And I find that SiteMeter has worked really well for me and many other people.
But if you do make this, could we also be able to turn it off?

And for those other guys who don't think this is a big deal: You would have to add it to every wiki. And Wetpaint would have to create a code, then write that code into the Wetpaint Wiki. Then launch it, which will take a lot of "juice"
So, it could crash. And even you know it is little in size, it would have around 1000 pieces of code! Maybe more. And if they get ONE thing wrong in the code, they would have to re-write it completely! So, NO! It is not a little thing to do!
And here is an example of what I just said:
Many racing cars may be little in size. Like the Corvette. But they are really fast! Because they have a lot of horse power!
Just like the Wetpaint Counter. It may be small but it is hard work.

Just thought everyone should know.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I guess I didn't make this clear.
When I said they had to put it into every wiki I meant they had to put it into the network. They won't update every wiki at different times.

There is answer to this question of using online members. Till Wiki is doing something, you can use "get Meebo" and you can put small box where u will online your members can see online while they are visiting your site and chat with you

Thank you

"hi wetpaint

can we have a "whos online feature" please

i have over 60 members on my site and would like to know when members are online and so will my members, they can then go to the chat room and talk.

perhaps this can go where the top contributors box is?

all i need is this and my wiki will be complete"
May I suggest this idea for those who are so eager for it?

Add a section to the profile page. Have it say "I am Online/Offline." when users log off, they can erase the "online" and when they log on, the can erase the "offline."

Bingo!
