Make Hierarchies follow Subarchies.
Apr 24 2008, 2:55 AM EDT Let's say you have: >Food >>Fruit >>>Orange >>>Apple >>Vegetable >>>Potato >>Meat >>>Beef >>>Chicken You know, a hierarchy of links that drop down with those little arrow things you can click. Can you get the hierarchies to automatically track and list what is inside of them? Hope that makes sense. Do you find this valuable? |

Apr 24 2008, 9:28 AM EDT Yes. Simply by paying attention to where you are when you click the "add page" your page will be put in the right place on the menu under search this wiki at the top left. http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/How+to+Organize+Your+Site If you add one in the wrong place, there is a "move pages" feature you can use to re-order them. http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Move+Page 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Make Hierarchies follow Subarchies.
Apr 24 2008, 11:26 AM EDT I'm sorry Brian but that's not quite the info I'm looking for. What I mean to say is that... Could I get the "Fruit" category to always track the items inside it AND list them as a directory on it's own "Fruit" page? So if you clicked on Fruit its page would show you another directory of... >Orange >Apple And then if someone added a new fruit like bananas it would automatically be listed on this page as well. Kinda complicated, I know. But I think that's the best I can explain. Do you find this valuable? |

Apr 24 2008, 11:31 AM EDT OK. That explains it better. I don't know how to move this to "make a suggestion". http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Make+a+Suggestion But you could re-post it there. It sounds to me like a feature that would be useful to almost everyone, and easily deleted by those who did not like it. And even if the hierarchy shows up in that navigation window at top left, many users tend to ignore such things, so having a redundant link on the main page would be a good feature in my opinion. Apr 24 2008, 11:33 AM EDT Once you have added a page eg. apple then go back to the fruit page and add a link to it. This is the only way to do it. Do you find this valuable? |
