Apr 23 2008, 6:33 PM EDT I was thinking that there isn't a lot of flexibility in the premissions ascription. It would make things a lot easier, and a lot safer, if there would be a "custom permissions" feature where you could customize which rank is able to edit, move, delete pages, etc. Like have a bullet selection of all the features that can be done for each rank that the Creator can customize. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Indeed it would be great, it kinda bothers me how much of a gap is between the writer and moderator ranks on the "invitation only" level. and the fact that there's next to no differenc between a mod and an admin on that level. I REALLY hope they see this thread and take it into consideration. C'mon Wetpaint, make it happen! lol Do you find this valuable? |

Apr 23 2008, 10:37 PM EDT There's nothing easy about customizing permissions. Aside from the technical issues, designing a UI for juggling the 400+ different things you can do on a wiki would be horrendous. There is a large gap between Moderator and Administrator on Invitation and Private wikis. Administrators have full control over the wiki - they can change the Custom URL, edit the site greeting, modify the profiles of other users, change the permission scheme of the wiki - just like Creators. Moderators only have control over the content and Templates. Go to the Settings area of a wiki as an Administrator and compare to what's available as a moderator. I think you'll find there's a lot of difference. Do you find this valuable? |
