Still not receiving email notifications
Apr 10 2008, 6:57 PM EDT
I have four wikis on Wetpaint and am not getting my "Watched Page" notifications even when I make changes on my most recent one. I have tried changing my email, checked my Watch settings and checked my spam folder. Are notifications down today, or is there a way to see if they are being sent on your end and not received on mine? I've tried with two different providers in case one of them had blocked Wetpaint, but surely Yahoo! should allow emails. Please let me know; I am reluctant to invite all of our members in if notifications don't work properly on Wetpaint, and after much searching of other notification threads on this wiki, I am worried that is the case. Thank you. Do you find this valuable? |

I think it only notifies you if someone other than you modifies the page in question.

That's correct. Our system assumes that if you're the one making the edit that you're aware of it ;-)

Interesting - I get all of them from pbwiki; will shift expectations and roll with it - thanks

You are right. AOL places wetpaint in the Spam folder, I am afraid, Yahoo, Gmail and the like will do the same. My members with these addresses have never received my messagesVery discouraging to say the least. Do you find this valuable? |

I can't figure out what is wrong. Based on what CaptainSpaz said above, I changed it so that the one person I want to have emails notifying him of changes has a different e-mail address than everyone else. I'm still not getting e-mails after resetting my ticket with the new credentials. Basically I've set it up like this:My admin logs in: user.role=moderator&user.emailOptIn=true&user.email=admin@email.com Everyone else: user.emailOptIn=false&user.email=fakeOrUnused@email.com (some of these are set to be moderators if that matters) I tried using 1 and 0 instead of true and false. I've also tried setting everyone's user.emailOptIn to true. Any help is greatly appreciated. Do you find this valuable? |

I'm not quite sure what it is you're doing, there. What's the URL of your site?

The website requires people to login, so providing the url won't work. Basically we have it set up so that when a user arrives on the page it creates a wetpaint ticket and logs them in, since the only people who can get to the page have to have logged in to our site first. The ticket response I used is as described on this page: http://www.wetpaintinjected.com/page/UserService.login Then we send the wiki information to load the Easy Edit button. The wiki edits just fine and the ticket is generated correctly, the only problem is that there are no e-mails sent to our administrator email when a user changes the wiki. Thanks for the help. Let me know what I need to explain if I still am not making sense. Do you find this valuable? |

Email notification is not something that Wetpaint Injected does. There are implementations that have been done that will send notifications, but that's something you would have to create on your own.The option to store the notification flag is something Injected handles, but what you do with it is up to you.
