Formatting Text ISSUES

I have writing samples up on several different pages, and I have been reformatting each of them in succession for days now.
I get done getting the returns, tabs, etc... all in the right places, hit save, and it looks fine. I go to the next one, finish it, go back to survey my progress and all the formatting is gone. I have three pages with one really big paragraph on each page.
