I don't mind. As long as wetpaint remains free then they can do what they like. But innappropiate flash isn't good either.

If they are inappropriate..Email info@wetpaint.com with your wiki URL, and the ad URL that is inappropriate so they can filter it out. Thanks, Josh 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"well flash ads are distracting thats the companies goal of doing distracting people to buy stuff thats why i hate flash ads"Hi guys, here's an explanation of what is going on with the ads. We’re testing display banner advertising across the Wetpaint network of sites because we’re committed to keeping Wetpaint a free service. The way we defer the costs of Wetpaint is by placing advertising on your Wetpaint sites. Until now, we primarily used Google advertising. Recently, Google made a significant change to their advertising product. You can read more about the change and its impact on its users on TechCrunch here: http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/02/29/google-ctr-down-due-to-click-area-changes/ During this test, we’ll be trying an assortment of different ad networks to see which provides the best balance between user experience and revenue. To be clear, we find the aggressively flashing, bouncing, and music playing ads to be 100% unacceptable. We’ve made efforts to remove them from the mix. If you see such advertising, please take a screen shot and send it in. We’ll do what we can to make sure those don’t appear. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Yes but A Question how would i manage to take a screenshot of an ad?"Just hit Alt and Prt Scr at the same time, then paste on a fresh document (paint preferably). You should know where Alt is on your Keyboard, and Prt Screen shares the same key as SysRq on my keyboard, and its at the top to the right of Backspace. On my laptop, I haven't figured out how to take a screen shot, so try to do it on a rgegular PC. Do you find this valuable? |

Or you can hit just Print Screen and get the entire screen including the bottom bar (don't know why you would want it but anyway) and then cut it out in Paint or some other software.

"I don't mind. As long as wetpaint remains free then they can do what they like. "I wanted to thank you for the headache and eye strain. After struggling to ignore the new flashing banner ads and the new flashing navigation bar ads (heck, I even tried to out wait them ....) I give up. I will NOT be adding my additional 4 sites to wetpaint. I have been working with wetpaint for over 1 year. had a break and when I returned, found the most annoying FLASHING ads ALL OVER THE PLACE. It is impossible to focus on the pages for editing. ALL 4 OF my NEW SITES that WERE GOING to be ADDED TO WETPAINT will GO TO ANOTHER SITE instead. I will vote with my money and pay another hosting site rather than pay wetpaint to delete the ads on a FREE site. I hate the "captive" audience approach to customer service; ie, its too much trouble to move so I will put up with or pay for the upgrade. I don't think so. Rather than convince me to click On the annoying pain in the ... I want to click AWAY FROM THAT PAGE AS FAST AS POSSIBLE and NEVER COME BACK AGAIN!. Do you find this valuable? |
