Wetpaint Widgets supports Gabby Chat but not Gabby Button?
Apr 1 2008, 4:41 PM EDT I just embedded the Gabby Chat widget into my wiki. I am now trying to embed the button to the home page so that viewers can see who is in chat. This is the code I am trying to embed: "<a href = 'http://gabbly.com/http://catgirlalliance.wetpaint.com/page/Chat'><img src = 'http://www.gabbly.com/gabbly/presencebutton?t=http://catgirlalliance.wetpaint.com/page/Chat' border = '0'></a>" This is the message I get: "This widget appears to be embedding the same URL as the page it is on. Please try a different URL." Apparently you can't embed widgets that contain the wiki URL in it... Is there anyway to disable this? Because it is really annoying when widgets use the URL in the html code. I am an experienced programmer but set up a wiki for less experienced programmers in my club. It would be nice if there was some way to insert your own html code in without it checking whether the code may be incorrect :P 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Apr 1 2008, 5:08 PM EDT The code you are trying to put in is not a widget, it's just a link with an image. You can add this to the page by uploading the image and then manually adding the URL to it. Do you find this valuable? |

Apr 2 2008, 7:39 PM EDT It is actually supposed to be code that chooses an image. The image tells users how many people are chatting (ie "There are 3 Gabbers"). The code then selects which image to display based on how many people are in the chat room. Because the image selection is not static, I cannot simply upload the image. Do you find this valuable? |

Apr 3 2008, 7:21 AM EDT Wetpaint does not support HTML Codes, All you have to do is get the Embed Code of your Chat Room and scroll down in the "Widgets" Tab in EasyEdit and enter the code, Hit ok and the chat will be showing. Hope this cleared it up. -------------- AirBrush Do you find this valuable? |
