Tables. Merging Cells.
Mar 31 2008, 12:04 PM EDT
Hi guys, I've figured out how to merge cells horizontally in a table but how do I merge them vertically. I am trying to create a table 5 rows by 5 collumns with the centre 3 by 3 cells merged to create a large cell in the middle. I can merge the collumns within a single row beasily ut how do I then merge the rows within the collumns? Do you find this valuable? |

You should be able to merge cells both vertically or horizontally. Just highlight the cells you want to merge, right-click, and then select the merge option on the dialog window that appears.

Thanks, I've been experimenting and I can now merge cells verically OR horizontally but can't do both.If I merge cells in a collumn, I can't then merge them with the next row. Right clicking only gives me the option to split the cells again. Do you find this valuable? |
