I Hate The New Features!

I hate how my wiki is laid out! I liked it the old way!I hate having to click on Easy Edit! And I hate not being able to see who updated one of the pages and who made the newest comment. I know there is a way I can. But I liked it better when I just load my wiki up and I can see that stuff. I HATE THIS!!!!! --Wiiplay! 2 out of 6 found this valuable. Do you? |

check out the what's new area. it's like the "recently updated" panel on steroids. :)

We decided to try going without a right hand column for a couple reasons. The feedback we have been getting from users was that the right hand column was getting in the way. All of the functions are still on the site, they've just been moved up to the top of the page. We think this makes them more accessible and it gives you more room to edit the page. Also, instead of having a measly 3 boxes showing recent posts or edits, there is now a much more useful "What's New" section where you can see what's really going on.

Are you kidding me? It was so much cooler and easier to use before. None of the people on my site like it, and I've gotten complaints. Is there anyway that I can change mine back to the way it was?

CHANGE IT BACK CHANGE IT BACK CHANGE IT BACK!!!!!!!!!"It's super easy to check on who has posted a new thread or changed a page, just click on the "What's New" link at the top of the page. The old way only showed the 3 most recent posts or edits so if there were more than 3 you would have had to go to the old "Site Reports" page anyway. If you want to see the changes as they are happening then try using an RSS feed for whichever thing you want an update on. You can even embed the RSS feed right on your homepage, which pretty much would do the same thing as the old right rail feature. The benefit of the new design is that users can choose how they want to be updated. 2 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

Not only do I miss seeing the most recent updates at a glance but all my tables that fit to the page look horrible now. I'm going to have to make new tables with real number values to put the content in so all the written content doesn't look sloppy. I like to do newspaper style articles in my pages.

I really think you should go back to the old format."Listen guys, You CAN have an RSS feed posted on the home page of your site that will show the most recent thread activity. This is almost exactly the same thing as was previously on the right rail, but now you are free to put it anywhere on the page - top, bottom, left, or right. Plus you can choose to see more than just the three most recent. I put an example here on the homepage. Take a look - http://www.wetpaintcentral.com You can get the RSS feed for the most recent threads on the "What's New" area. Then just embed it on your homepage using the RSS feed widget as shown on http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/RSS+Feed Just like that and you can see the three most recent posts on your site! The only thing I do like about it is the way the member listing is laid out under the member tab instead of the top contributors listing.
