Templates for students
Feb 24 2008, 2:34 PM EST Hello. i like the templates, however I don't really want kids to write about themselves per se, but rather I want them to share their understanding of the content we are learning. These templates could be used in the beginning of the year as we get to know each other. Later on, it is not that I don't want to read about the students life, but I am really more concerned about whether my students are able to share what they know about specific content information. I think the purpose for writing on an educational wiki should not be about themselves, but the work they are learning and engaged in. This takes all the subjectivity out of the project and allows students to focus on what we want them to know instead of themselves. This is just the beginning for me of creating wikis in the classroom and so I may not be as knowledgeable as others on the topic. Please share your thinking!!! Michele Polselli 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Feb 24 2008, 4:40 PM EST I agree completely. Perhaps we will have to design it ourselves. Do you find this valuable? |

Mar 26 2008, 3:40 PM EDT This is completely off the subject but how does a friend of Michelle's from college get it touch with her? JCowie cblkdog@yahoo.com BTW templates aren't bad but you don't want to make it too easy on the kids, they need to think. Do you find this valuable? |

Mar 26 2008, 3:44 PM EDT That template may suit many schools. You don't just have to use the template, you can develop further pages of content to suit your needs. The template is to get you started. Do you find this valuable? |
