Enhancements Desired for Discussion Threads
Feb 22 2008, 5:36 PM EST There does not seem to be a feature that facilitates making links to pages that might be referenced in discussion threads. You can move a thread to a page and you can link pages to threads but there isn't a way to for example embed a link to an information page as part of a discussion thread post. This would be a significant enhancement as many time someone asks questions and the answers are inside the Wiki on various pages but there is no direct way to point the person to those pages except to say go look on the XYZ page. Also a preview of a post to a discussion thread or the ability to edit your own post would be a great improvement. There seems to be no way to fix typos or other errors once something is posted. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Enhancements Desired for Discussion Threads
Feb 22 2008, 8:19 PM EST Yes, so how did you create that link? Hard coded in HTML? If so that's better than nothing, but we would like to see a link tool similar to the Easy Edit link tool that is part of page editing so that we don't have to open a second browser window to hunt down and copy and paste the URL. What about the ability to preview / edit thread posts? The addition of threads is a great enhancement but they seem to be implemented without the same level of flexibility and ease of use as the main pages in the Wiki. We do appreciate your responses, thanks. Do you find this valuable? |

That link was created because of the On Site Linking in Threads Features, Release on June 20, 2007. See: http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/06%2F20%2F07+-+release Look under Comment Linking. I believe that at some point, Wetpaint will implement Previewing, and Several other Thread/Post Features. Thanks, Josh 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Enhancements Desired for Discussion Threads
Feb 22 2008, 10:59 PM EST I tried to post this once so i hope I am not spamming . I could not find my post. Wetpaint is a great site but not for optimization from links. They said to hyperlink with keyworkds linking to your site. They have a "no follow rule" which means that the links will drive traffic but not increase your rankings in the search engines. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
