How to control type of advertising.
Feb 19 2008, 7:44 AM EST
I have just created a site called PoolWerx Collaboration, for pool service technicians to share info.

When I'm in the discussion group page, all the ads are pool related, which is great.

When I'm on the home page all the ads are about collaboration - all sorts of collaborration, web tools etc. Totally useless to the audience (except me the administrator) (And I've tried it as Administrator and Writer).

so is there anyway I can change or influence that so we really get the pool related advertising on every page ?

The ads are served up from Google AdSense. They are contextually based on what the Google bots see in the page content. Try adding to or changing the page content and you will see different ads eventually. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Adding more about pool, if that is what it is about, will change what the GoogleBots see on your wiki. Ads help Wetpaint gain money everytime someone clicks on them. Thats why people should click on them as much as possible!

Go Wetpaint!

Kind of awkward. The whole site is about pools, but it is assumed throughout. We don't talk about pool cleaners, we talk about cleaners etc. What we need is to be able to add something to the page to specifically invite ads. In HTML I think there is something. USed to be used for gaining search engine ranking, but search engines now get around that. But Ad placers would want to look at those clues, surely ? Do you find this valuable?
