sign in problems

My sign-in, as well as all the sign-ins for my members, will not work properly. When you sign in, with the correct info, it says that sign-in doesn't exist. But, if you hit cancel and then hit refresh, it logs you into the homepage. My wiki is www.wikiwalker.wetpaint.com. This is a problem, when I'm using it with students. Can it be fixed? We are using Internet Explorer in XP. 2  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

That's a rather odd problem and it makes me think that something may be interfering with the cookies we use to handle logging in. Are all of the machines that are being used in the same location behind a firewall of some kind? Do you find this valuable?

Well, we are a school, so yes, there is a district firewall. Do you find this valuable?

I have a similar problem. We (my students) have laptops on a firewalled wireless network. Students are being logged in as different people. I have found that if student1 logs in first, subsequent students signing in with their own usernames and passwords get logged in as student1.

I have found refreshing the page shows up the correct username, but very annoying and unprofessional as an educator.

My school IT support crew think it might be an issue your end as it is a similar problem they experienced with an early version of Moodle that was fixed with a version update.

Any chance WP can look into this?

Thanks.

We have looked into this and have thus far been unable to reproduce it.

Our best guess of the problem is that there is some aggressive caching at the firewall that includes session and cookie information, but we have yet to be able to get someone from a district that is experiencing this problem to talk to us about it in technical detail.

If your IT folks are willing to talk, please send them my way.

I am also an educator using WP as a class website. My students are having the same issues about being logged in as other users. Jason, what kind of information do you need on my end to try and improve this situation? Which "technical details" would be useful? Do you find this valuable?

I'm having a similar problem, but in order to log in to my site I have to reset my password. Then when I leave the site and return later I have to repeat this. This has happened to me on 3 different computers -- 2 at a university and 1 at home. I read this thread and tried disabling my firewall at home, but no luck. Any suggests other than firewall issues? same thing happened with my students working at the same hospital in Scotland last year: now colleagues I have recommended Wetpaint to are experiencing this when logging on at a University in England. This has caused serious concern about security issues and my colleagues are now convinced Wetpaint is insecure and migrating to wikispaces!!. I am sad as I am a big fan of Wetpaint, but if a colleague can sign in and start editing her boss's profile, as she did today as a test, you can see how they'd be worried! Yep, me too. I work in a school in Singapore and trying (hard!) to get teachers into using wikis. It's not helping that most times they sign in they get somebody else's login. Will try the refresh button idea, but it's all very inconvenient! NB, I have also tried deleting all cookies, temporary internet files etc but that doesn't work either. I am promoting Wetpaint amongst a very large number of colleagues throughout the Asian region and I really think this might turn them off too. Please fix quick! Do you find this valuable?

I am having trying getting any password to work on facebook (wetpaint). I type in my user name (my email address) and I get an email back in my inbox to change my password and how to do it and then when go back in and type my email address and a new password, it tells me my password has been changed but when I go into it again and use that password, it says "we can't find a user name and password" that you have entered.
Please help me with this. I would like to reply to someone but can't.
Thank you.
My email address is jcapaccion@state.pa.us
