BUG; centering items in merged table cells

Centering items in table cells which are merged over the entire width of the table doesn't seem to work. It works, and it shows up pretty good after saving the edited page, but try to leave the page and go back: the items aren't centered any more!
For an example: please check out the wetpaint sandbox, page "table - test" and it's tagged "center, centering, table, bug" if I remember well. (http://www.wikisandbox.com/page/table+-+test)
This bug has been mentioned earlier, but apparently nothing happened.....
Is anyone on this?

ah yes,
1) OS = XPt,
2) Firefox 2.0.0.11 isn't able to center those items in the table,
3) IE7 was! Check out page "table - test - with IE" and you'll see everything is fine.
So, we should have a closer look on how Firefox screws it up.
