No Export - just say it!
Jan 20 2008, 7:00 PM EST This is a wonderful site, but I am disappointed not only about its lack of an export feature, but also how the subject is downplayed. The question Wetpaint posed was "an I export or backup content from my Wetpaint site?" and instead of just saying "NO!", the subject is converted into a reliability one (we have never lost a site). Perhaps I am misunderstanding this issue, but I would love to have the ability to take my data elsewhere (It´s not a matter of planning to do so, just being ABLE to do so). I have been reluctant to invest in putting content in because of this... 2 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

Jan 20 2008, 7:25 PM EST If you check the wiki settings on your wiki, you'll see a new Backup tab. It's a new feature from our latest release which allows Administrators and Creators to create a backup copy of all pages on their wikis. More information about this feature can be found at: http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Site+backup 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: No Export - just say it!
Jan 22 2008, 12:16 AM EST Dear Jason, Thanks for your prompt reply. This wiki is definitely fantastic and, given that you have begun to address my concern, it shows that Wetpaint continues going in the right direction. I have accounts with PB and WS, since I narrowed my choices down to three wikis; it seems to me that Wetpaint is the best. Wikispaces is not pretty and not that intuitive while PeanutButter is easy and intuitive (as is Wetpaint), they have it set up at "bare bones" to force you to upgrade to get the "real" thing. I cannot wait to start populating my Wetpaint education wikis - my ads will be gone after I contact the ambassador! Thanks Again. Do you find this valuable? |
