I continue to get the following message when I try to enter Wet Paint. Pak 'N Go.

Oops!

clearing cache & cookies doesn't solve it this time - it's really slow for the last half day.

One question: I'm pretty new here, but we can't afford down-time. Does this happens regularly on wetpaint,. Is there data available about down times?

Is there a way to backup your wiki, work on it offline and upload it again? Would be great.

Wouldn't it take more time clearing cookies and cache than waiting for it to load.

I said to clear the cookies and cache for the "Oops! you found a bug" question posted by cmathis.

There is a way to backup your wiki but you can not edit the pages then re-upload them, see: http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Site+backup

We do everything we can to reduce downtime. Even though the site was responding slowly yesterday, at no time was it unavailable. We were still processing transactions all day.

When we do a release there may be a small amount of downtime in the evening, typically around 10pm Pacific Time. That's usually every three to four weeks.

Thanks, Jason,

Is there a way to get informed of this, upfront? e-mail list? general message board with announcements somewhere?

Thanks

I hope you can forgive me if I don't respond promptly on a Friday evening.

We don't pre-announce our release, but we do what we can to minimize downtime. If we have significant database work to do, we will usually leave the site in what we call "Read-Only Mode". Sites can be viewed, but no editing can take place.

Since our revenue and our partner sites are dependent on page views, we take anything that causes a decrease in page views very seriously. Our entire development team has been working for several days to diagnose and fix the performance problems we've had since our release on Monday, and I think we've probably fixed it. Only time will tell.
