Can I move the right column further to the right?
Jan 10 2008, 10:02 AM EST
Mosts of the readers of our site don't need to see the right column which includes "wetpaint orientation" "toolbox" "recent site acitivity". Is there a way I can move the right column further to the right so my page looks neater?

From what little I know, I think it's part of the template and can't be changed (or I'd have widened the directory, which I use instead for Web sites). We had this same trouble with our Web page when the software changed, shifting around all our carefully spaced sample citations! But I bow to others in the know.

aaarrrgh! Today, while trying to copy and paste an entry, I somehow did widen the space way farther to the right than I would have wished. I've moved the individual table edges back to where they belong, so you can see the whole table on the screen without scrolling. But the whole editable space itself is still way too wide, and I can't seem to get hold of it... like trying to change the title above the box... I'm not much help. Do you find this valuable? |

"aaarrrgh! Today, while trying to copy and paste an entry, I somehow did widen the space way farther to the right than I would have wished. I've moved the individual table edges back to where they belong, so you can see the whole table on the screen without scrolling.Whatever you pasted into the table is wider than the table dimensions. If it were an image. Try resizing the image. I n order for text to do this, it had to be contained within a table before the copy. So when you selected to copy the entry, it also selected the table it was in. When it pasted the copied table held its dimensions, thus throwing your screen off to the right. To verify this...right click on the entry itself and choose "Select Table". If the entry and only the entry grays out, then the text is in a table. All that is needed is to hightlight the text within that table...do a CTRL-X to remove the text. Then select that table and delete it. Next select a position on your original table for the text and do a CTRL-V to paste the text. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

If you are looking to expand your page so the right column does not show, please look at the instructions on how to do this at:http://splats.wetpaint.com/page/Wide+Tables This example is for new pages and for demonstration purposes only. To perform this on already existing pages would require cutting and pasting the content of your existing page into the tables created by the method shown on my wiki. Do you find this valuable? |
