Wetpaint - Serious Urgent

Dear Wetpaint,My website is very 'ugly' you could change this by removing the Top Contributors Bar, Active Threads and Pages. Replace the space of the Top Contributors Bar into a Breaking News Alert Section, replace the Active Pages space into a Lounge Area, like add mini-games from mini clip with the local time above and a space where I could EasyEdit and type something. As my website is family-friendly, I would not like any Wiki ads or Google ads - thanks 3 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

At this time you are unable to get those things removed, or have anything like that added. Also - Ads can only be removed from Educational Sites.

That stinks because I want the same thing. I want mine to be for any age group but some of the ads little kids should not read. Check out my website @ www.teentv.wetpaint.com

So, are there no remedies for offensive ads or offensive wikis that are automatically linked to my site?As an example, in my current "Top Wetpaint Sites" I have a site called "F*** your Jesus, and race". Of course, it is not edited - it displays the full F-Bomb. The website address is www.f***yourjesus.com. (On a sidenote - it is interesting that the site isn't, in fact, a wetpaint wiki but it shows under my wetpaint sites) Now that site is just about offensive to anyone. For me, my wiki is religious themed, promoting Christianity. I can't have people visiting my site and seeing that garbage. In the google ads I am consistently seeing ads for things that I don't want on my site. This is a family friendly site and yet there are ads for webcam chat rooms and finding sexy singles. I understand the need to leverage Google ads to recoup the cost for running the servers. However, there has to be a better way to filter the ads that come up. For example, blocking anything with the word "sex" would be a great place to start for those of us with family themed wikis. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

My website's educational, please remove adds but remember to delete the Top Contributors Bar and also replace it with other things I requested.I don't want kids visiting unessary wikis like the Tudor Fan Wiki, it has sex, please remove all bad ads, I don't want any ads at all! 3 out of 3 found this valuable. I'm going to try out your monthly fee experiment for removing ads. The wiki I'll be designing will be specifically for internal business use and will be fully private. Quick question - Does anyone know how to make a wetpaint wiki site 'not searchable' from search engines? Basically the opposite of being SEO friendly.

If your site is private, the search engine crawler bots won't be able to get in to index the pages. The page that shows when you're not logged in is fair game, but the only things that show there are the wiki name and the Description text that you enter in Wiki Settings.

Seriously wetpaint is free totally free, how do you think that wetpaint can fund this whole thing without a few ads here and there. Its not like they take over the whole page and limit your ability to create.Come on guys fair is fairs. The top contributer thing that is great, a chance to be famous. yeah, but do you REALLY need sponsers that mention sex or playboy? my site is about Jesus, and when an ad comes up that says 'God and Hell are Imagenary and I can prove it!' that won't exactly encouge non-christians (who i am trying to whitness to) to convert, and when 'the stupid blonde quiz' add comes up, and ppl click it, and it mentions strippers and cage dancers and playboy, me my sister and my friends have ALL gotten complants.......ttyl lilly Do you find this valuable? |
