RE: Thread suggestion
Jan 4 2008, 4:41 PM EST That is something that is on our list of possible future enhancements (I actually brought it up in a meeting today). My impression is that we will implement something like this eventually, but it's not scheduled for the next couple releases. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Aug 13 2008, 9:37 PM EDT when this feature is released, will it be possible to restore threads that were deleted BEFORE that feature was there? Do you find this valuable? |

Aug 15 2008, 8:32 PM EDT "well y not? HTML would b a great thing! y dont u make it optional HTML editing and put it on the wiki prefrences?"Wetpaint was created specifically because most people don't know HTML. People that do know how to write HTML and CSS typically buy a domain through a hosting company and custom build their site using Dreamweaver or some other type of web design software. Our team is really focused on making Wetpaint the easiest to use platform where people can build their own collaborative online communities and anyone can add content to the web. The best way for us to do this is to create tools that everyone can use, not just the few that know HTML. Another problem is that allowing direct HTML or CSS editing opens up all kinds of problems where people can really mess their sites up, not to mention reposition or remove the ads we place on the sites. And ads are what allows us to offer Wetpaint as a free service. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Thread suggestion
Sep 4 2008, 10:19 PM EDT "Wetpaint was created specifically because most people don't know HTML."I used to have a 'Yahoo Group' but created my Private wiki to replace this Group. Whilst wetpaint wiki offers a number of advantages, there are 2 things the 'Yahoo Group' offered, that this current wiki does not, namely:- 1) The ability to use RTF/HTML content in the Discussion Thread. One can't add 'Formatting' to the Text to make it easier to read. (Sure one can create a 'Page' to do this, but rather more involved than use of a RTF Editor as used in Yahoo Groups and some Forums (rather than BBS script - but even this is better than the non-formatted Text Wetpaint currently have?) - see cant even have a nice 'List' with indenting! 2) Ability to create/reply tp a Message Thread via e-mail, without logging on to the Wiki and composing in real-time. Most can create an e-mail, using the Text Editor and can create RTF or HTML formatted version, without knowledge of HTML also? The alternative was to consider 'Google Groups' which seems to combine the best of Yahoo Groups with the Discussion 'Topic Page' or 'Blog' type features of wetpaint wiki. I have another Yahoo Group and have created both a Google Group and a Wiki Group, to see if the Members prefer either of these to the current Yahoo Group - will see which one wins the popularity/usability vote? Do you find this valuable? |
