We should be able to have the option to make chosen links to open in a new page.
Cause I have music on my site, and I would like it for people to listen to the music while they browse the site. :)

I hope this works!!

I agree. I was going to make the same suggestion.

Would it please be possible to have options for links to open in a new window or navigate away from the page.

Some of our members post "external" links but they open in the same window hence taking them away from our site.

Martin.

Choosing whether or not a link will open in a new window is the function of the browser. Internet Explorer that function can be found under Tools. With Firefox, a plugin must be downloaded to have the availiability to open links in new window.

Internet Explorer
Under Tools=General tab=Tabs Settings=Select "Open Links from other programs in A New Window"

Firefox
Download the add-on "Open Link" from Firefox website and install.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/379
To use it, right click on link and select =Open Link In=New Window

I like that idea. Kinda like what they do with the music player at .Ning sites where it opens in a seperate window and can follow you around as you navigate a site.

I don't think he means it in that way. I know a lot of sites where it will have a music player on one page and has an option that says open floating window and when you do it opens a small window that lets you keep the music playing while you go around. It is connected right to the music player. A lot of the flash MP3 players don't let you open in a new window like that.

That or you could go with MyFlashFetish.com for a custom built MP3 player. They let you store songs for free on Boxtr.com and then use the URL codes to populate your MP3 player. Pretty good service. I also like xat.com for an amazing chatroom that is realtime and super easy to use. Has a ton of emoticons and options. Custom avatars with peoples names. Remembers you everytime you go to the page it is on by your IP address and you can paste the same chatroom widget on different pages and it will act as the same room so if one person is on PAGE 1 and another is on PAGE 2 they both can talk through the chatroom 1  out of 1 found this valuable.
