Good idea.
Moving threads can be done, see: http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Move+a+Thread
But attaching files to a thread, editing a thread and locking threads sound great

Thanks for the great suggestions. Hopefully we will be able to implement some of these ideas in a future release as we continue to enhance the discussion forum features.

I think it would be useful to give the creator of a wiki and mods the ability to edit members' threads too. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

The creator should be able to do that, not mods. Oh and I think the Creator should be able todo something special........... U know? To set them apart from any1 else? Cuz the admins have all the same features and the creator deserves something more..................

The creator can't have such a big responsibility on their own. If a wikisite became huge and there were lots of irrelevant posts the creator would need some help managing the place. On normal forums, you have an administrator and he/she picks some moderators to help manage the site, and they usually have the ability to edit threads.

Oh another suggestion for threads...(or maybe I just can't figure out how to do it) - multiquote - so we can quote more than one post in our reply.

Re. multiquote

Cool, it works...but you've just copied and pasted the text into the middle haven't you?

Could we have the name of the quoted poster somewhere in the thread? It would make it easier to understand who's being quoted without having to read all the posts.

Thanks.

Locking of threads would be really useful. I was going to suggest it myself but did a quick search and got directed here.

I would love to be able to edit a thread. Sometimes in the heat of an Idea, I'll trasnpose a letter and not notice it until I go back and re-read it. Then it's TOO LATE! 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I agree, the creator should have Administrator rights over any content THEY create. One of my users didn't know how to use her scanner so she was posting 3X5's in a 8.5X11 picture.
SHE posted, SHE screwed up, SHE wanted to delete the photos but I had to do all the work.

but the creator should have the ability to be able to add features and deny features to an admin member, that way it would solve the issue you mentioned.

I agree the admin allowances are far too close to that of creator and there should be a clear boundary. Say if the creator is unhappy with what an admin member is doing with a specific thing on the site like deleting threads without consulting but everything else is brilliant then the creator should be allowed to put a block on that specific admin member deleting threads. The creator should have more control over his/her own site.

Also threads should be allowed to be put into main 'sections' for example my site at www.retrohead.co.uk has lots about Nintendo, Sega and Microsoft etc etc..I would like to have the ability to put threads in folders, so if you want to thread something say about Sega you do it under the Sega folder. Just like normal forums.
