i would like to have the ability to create/register a full domain on the fly. i can do it with godaddy right now - i'm sure they'd be willing to partner.
i can register a new domain with godaddy, click a couple of buttons to install whatever cms i want, and a few hours later myownpersonaldomain.com is rockin with a full-featured cms or whatever other pre-installed app i wanted. sure - we'd fill the blogofascosphere with lots of horriblespurofthemomentdomains.com, but that's not wetpaint's responsibility - they'll be fallen trees in the wilderness. but some people like me are actually smart, and we want sh*t done yesterday, so give me this ability, will ya, son? grossius.

I think that 'Ability to see who is currently online on your wiki' should be made!
I think that 'Ability to see how long people have spent on a wiki and how long they spend on each page' should be done I think that 'The ability to change the timezone to suit your area' should be done!

I'm curious. From looking through the discussion forum, I noticed a lot of threads about that wetpaint should make some additional styles for sites. I agree. But I also had an idea.
Would it be possible for WetPaint to do a poll on which styles it already has, and people vote on it. Then the ones with the most votes, wetpaint could create similar styles to the ones that got the highest votes.

Wetpaint really needs to think about making a way to change the order of the photos on the slidshows. I know the way you add them, they can make the order, but what if you make a mistake?

Ok, you guys shouldve BEEN having this on here. We should be able to have to option to have "approval" so we have to approve members before they can join our site. Great eh? Dont have this suggestion page up if your not gonna take any of em.

I am a firm believer in wetpaint wikis as being an unbelievably brilliant tool. Our own wiki is very successful. I would like to see the discussion forum facility enhanced. We also have a sepparate forum (www.guzzista.myclan.me.uk) which s also very successful. Currently though we have members on the wiki and members on the forum. It would be amazing to be able to bring them all together. There are those who love creating content on the wiki but there are others who prefer the banter of the forum.
Our forum is a phpbb2 forum. Our users love the smilies, the fact that you can post images, url links etc etc. We started the sepparate forum because the wetpaint version is a bit basic and people don't use it that often. What I do like about the wetpaint forum is that it is linked to the site's pages. If there was a way of making the wetpaint forum work in a similar way to phpbb type forums, or if there were a way in which a phpbb forum could be integrated/embedded in to the wiki I think there would be an explosion in usage. We have links with forums that have 5,000 members...imagine that volume on our beloved wikis! There would be no better community building platform anywhere out there! Thanks for listening. Ok, newbie here, wanted to get a suggestion going to see if anyone else wants a spell checker for threads? (if I have breached any rules of engagement, please excuse) I am a terrible speller and its really annoying to have to type everything in another program, spell check it, then cut and paste it into a "thread". Besides, our many of our future users are going to be coming from PDAs and cellphones, there is little patience for having to do the double program dance to get something spell checked AND posted to the site. Anyone else want/need a spell checker at the thread level?

The Top Contributors section on each page is causing pages to load painfully slow. Well it is on my private wiki anyway. On public wiki's it appears fine. I would prefer to see the section optional, as one of the options in the site settings. Or remove it to the members section.
Please make it at least optional or remove it from every page and move it to the members area.

I really want threads to be editable by Mods and up and to be able to restore deleted threads, at the moment if a thread is deleted it will be gone forever but i want to be able to restore them just like pages

It would be helpful if, when you select "watch page", that it also watches for new threads started on the page, and not just changes to the content. I understand that you can go to the "Discussion Forum" feature and see all the listed threads, but getting an e-mail alert would be much more convenient and would help me respond faster to requests and comments. Thanx!

Would be a translator. A lot of the sites I deal with are looking for information in languages other than English. I am fortunate to have 2 willing people who are converting information into Spanish and German. There are some Widgets (but Javascript) that allow you to translate the content. It would be helpful for all the individuals who aren't primarily english speaking be more engaged and active on the Wiki's.

Any future enhancements to the Discussion forums on the cards?
Its just my forums are stating to get buzzing and I fear some threads may get lost to the wind..for example I cant 'stick' a thread to the top of the forum. I would like to better organise the threads into specific areas, so all say XBox threads would go in one 'folder' and PS3 in another etc... Or are we going to have to make do with setting up an external forum specific account and linking to that...I would rather keep everything in house thean getting members to sign up to another site kust to be able to discuss things with each other

The watch feature is cool, but if there should be a way to let the community know when I post a new thread or new content. Either add a share button or make it an option for members to be sent an email when someone else posts content.

When will the new site templates be available--I'm particularly interested in the Baby Book.
If I create a blank wiki, can I eventually add in the pages of the baby book template and create it myself? Also, can I customize some of the background images? |
