Anchor tags and/or Table of Contents
This has been suggested many times before, but I think it bears repeating. Addition of a function to add anchor tags and/or insert a table of contents in a page would vastly increase the accessibility of Wetpaint. As it currently stands, the only real organizational navigation is in the sidebar and that's limited to between pages. For sites with large amounts of content, navigating within that content can become cumbersome if it is broken up between separate pages; conversely, if content is all placed in a single page, finding it becomes difficult. Addition of anchor tags or a ToC would alleviate that situation a bit allowing users to navigate within a page and therefore clean up some of the sidebar congestion. Furthermore, I think that enabling pages with larger amounts of organized content (and therefore limiting required inter-page navigation) would enhance the visiting experience for users with slow computers/connections.
The FAQs actually state that one of the best practices for putting together a page is "putting everything above the fold." A ToC is one of the purest examples of that philosophy, by giving users a quick rundown of everything of interest within a page. I think this functionality really ought to be one of Wetpaint's primary development goals if it currently isn't (as it stands on the Make a Suggestion poll, it's running pretty far behind the top three).

Anchor links -put it all together
How about getting the page anchors going to use on the new page layouts. We could then create page specific table of contents in the new side layout.
sometimes people want a preview of the page content near the top and an easy link to the attachments.
This would also work well if you add horizontal page layouts in addition to the vertical ones.
I feel like you are holding out on us.

How about bookmarks
Dear Jeremy
How about book marks on the same page that we can link to. Then we can use the side colomn for a table of contents. I'm still looking for that as an add in.
This one was vertical, how about horizontal?

Table of Contents, linking to headers
I've built an initial Wiki on WetPaint, but was sorely mising anchor linking and Table of Contents. Tried using Google's new Wiki (Sites,ex JotSpot I think). One thing they had that WetPaint did'nt was Auto Table of Contents, with links to 4 levels of header. Would really like to see that here on WetPaint.
