Is it possible to have a choice for a site: "Public, by invite only"?
As it stands now, if you want your site to be public, you have to also allow anyone and everyone to join. I would like to allow my sites to be "public", but I would also like to have control of who can join and thus participate and contribute. Chances are, who I invite will also be okay to be contributing members. Would it be possible to have a "public, by invite only" option?

Combining public and private
I want to make my site open for the public to view it. However, I'd also like any discussions that happen between the members (who are invited only) to be private. For example, let's say the members want to discuss fees that they charge and going rates. I don't want the public and potential clients to see these posts or threads. Is that possible? Or is it all one or the other?

"Universal" or "Global" friends vs those within each wiki I join?
I've noticed that my friends in one wiki I join do not show up under my profile in other wikis I join. I think this relates to having to fill out a separate user profile for each and every wiki I join. It is not too tough to open two browser windows or tabs, and copy most of my profile from one wiki to another, but I saw others questioning why they could not have a universal profile.
In some ways, I very much like the separate profiles and friend lists. I have a professional life, a private life, a family life. And I may not want my friends from my work projects (some of those friends are "boss" and "supervisor") seeing that I also am a member of some other wiki I participate in for fun. I am a counselor in the Daily Strength "social networking" site, and I notice that in that site they are a bit too open about telling me what all my friends are doing, and showing everyone all the support groups within Daily Strength that each user belong to. But anyway, the "scope" there is limmited to support groups, and the "hack" if you are concerned is to create a different user profile for each group, or just be anonymous. Here at wetpaint, I can easily imagine one person using these tools for many purposes from private to professional.

Partly public wiki?
Is it possible to make a certain area of the wiki public while keeping the contributer's part private? and if so, how to do this?
