Open up RSS Feeds for Private Sites
So that feed links only available to members of private sites. Maybe the RSS feed link could have an encrypted site ID added like:

make it easier to add new members to private sites
we are having a lot of difficulties adding new members to our private site, we REALLY don't want to have it public to add members THEN go private again, cos then it defeats the purpose of being private in the first place. Our new members work across different timezones, so there is no way for moderators to know when they are likely to sign in, thereby limiting the window of the site being public.
Such a limitation doesn't make any sense to users who want to grow the community but in a structured, orderly fashion? Will the feature to add members without going public be available anytime soon?

Using Two Wiki's - one public/one private
Our neighborhood wiki, CastleHillsCommunity.com has been VERY successful. We just took the whole site private due to concerns from neighbors who were airing their dirty laundry..I agree this is the right thing to do but some other things are happening such as people grumbling about the very limited information they get when they hit the main page now...we have very limited character count to explain about the privacy policy and what to do...What I would really like to do is have a much more informative and pretty front page that is public and everything else behind it private. I know we can't do this today BUT I had an idea and would love some input on it:
1. Why can't I create a 2nd wiki that will probably remain just one page, set it up exactly like I want and have one big link to the private wiki. I would want to move our custom URL to hit the new 'public' site but that should not be hard....what am I overlooking here....does this sound like a good idea to get a public AND a private side to this?
Thanks! Robb

Visitor access to private sites
Is it possible for someone to sign in as a visitor to a private site (ie to view and request joining). The drop down "What is this used for" for the site descriptor gives this impression.

deleting old content
When I delete a page, or delete content from a page, how can I make sure it's gone forever and not viewable?
Some other teachers and I are using a wiki to build course content. When classes start in a few weeks, the wiki will be what the students use for course information (I'd like to it but it's private right now). I want to make sure that our drafts and administrative contents that we have up now are totally gone when the site goes public.
Or, I'd like to know if there's a way to password protect some pages, or to limit some pages to moderators and admins only.
Thanks!

Private Sites
You can create a private website that only your inner circle can read. You decide who reads and who writes. Look for the private site option in your existing site's settings area - just click on 'permissions.' If you want to change your public sit
