  • Invitations, private sites, and current policy Hello! I am a member of several private wetpaint pages. It was my understanding that invitations were disabled, but now they are enabled again. I was able to successfuly send invitations to one site, but the another site will send invitations BUT when the user clicks on it, the page doesn't take them to the registration process. They accept the inviation, but they still cannot get in. I don't understand why. Does anyone know?

The site used to tell us who we invited and when they accepted the invitation. It is my understanding that this feature was also disabled. Will it be coming back?

What is the policy, as of May 2010, for private sites? Can you or can you not send (working) invitations to a private site? If so, how do we get help for this ongoing issue of "broken" invitations? And if not, what is the work around? Is there anything to do other than open the site and allow those members to join?

  • How do I make my site private? I use my site for educational purposes and want only members of the class to be able to view it. I had to make it public to let the class members join. How do I make the site private again?

  • Inviting new members to a private site I am the owner of a private site "Carden of Molesey". Using the "Invite New Members" button invitations to join the site are duly received. When the new invitee "accepts" the invitation he is directed to the home page of the site where he is informed that it is "Private" and that he should contact the person who invited him. I then signed up with a new user name as a wetpaint member and did a search for my website and was informed that it doesn't exist. The site has three other members (writers) whom I invited to join when I set up the site some months ago and they managed to join without problem.

  • How to allow people to register for site and be approved by admin Is there a way to allow people to register to a private site, and then allow the administrator to approve these people? This is a faster way of giving people access to a site instead of sending personal invitations by email. Would really appreciate if wetpaint had this feature asap.

  • Posting an image on a private wiki's splash page Is this possible? I want to have an image shown on the page that requires logging in. Barring that, I would settle for my header graphic showing up, but now instead of the graphic, is the text name of my site.

  • Viewable by all, editing by invite only? Is it possible to have a site be publicly viewable, but only allow editing, profile creation, etc. by those you invite? We don't mind if others see and read our site, but we only want our core group to be able to add to and change it.
