Facebook like chat feature
I was thinking how neat and cool and efficient it would be to have a chat feature like facebook! Where one would login to their wetpaint site and on the side or down below, somewhere, could be a drop down list or something and when u click it it shows all members of the site who are logged on. U cold click on a friend and send the person a instant message!!! Please is this possible ?

Increase number of attachments for educators
Hi, I am paying the premium for no ads, which I gather entitles me to more than 40 attachments, but I don't see how to do that. Can anyone help me with this?
Thank you!

Wet Paint for Educators
I am a high school teacher and think a watered down premium service (since we cant be responsible for ads) for education would be fantastic!!! If this already exists, I am sorry Im being dumb and missed it!

Why are ads back on my site after paying the fee?
Today I checked my sight, and found progressive-direct and citibank ads back on my site:
www.eoht.info
They were gone for about two weeks, now there back? Is this a glitch? Libb

TROLLS
If I pay for an ad free site, Will Wetpaint help enforce the user conduct policies? I have been trying to get rid of a TROLL on my spirituality based web site, but he can just sign in using a different e-mail. I have not found a way to block his IP addresses. I have banned him 19 times now and removed numinous threads that he has posted and now he has sent threatening e-mails to all members of my site. I cant sit at home all day trying to stop his activity. Will I have some control over hew signs up instead of this free sign up thing ware I don't even get a chance to approve members before letting them in?

Great idea but could be less
Great idea but could be less per month say $10. I think you would get a lot more people like myself who would do it. We are content with the free site (thanks), but for $10 I would opt for the ad free site for sure.

1-year and 2-year discount plan suggestion:
I would suggest a discount to those whow pay upfront, e.g. $200/yr (vs. $240 in monthly installments) and $370 for two years. Other sites such as Homestead do this.
Later, Libb

Price is too high
When I started using wetpaint, I liked the simplicity and layout over other wiki tools in the market (available at wikimatrix site) however it looks like they are being too greedy without giving much thought to their client base.
Many non-profit organizations like us would simply choose another tool rather than pay a huge fee every month. Moving existing content to google docs or zoho writer is another option for users strapped for cash. I liked the idea that site fee should vary depending on size, volume, members, traffic etc.
I think private sites should be ad-free anyway since there is not much traffic and revenue anyway to begin with. I would also like to see a third option - Buy the script outright and host it on your own server. That will address lot of security and privacy issues as well. Wetpaint can also charge a subscription fee for providing continued enhancements/support/add-ons etc.

Good idea!
I like the idea. As to price, I presently spend $22/mo for two websites at Homestead.com and $5/mo for another site at HostMonster.com. The only suggestion I would make is to have the cost be based on file size, bandwidth, or page count, or something along these lines. In this manner, you pay for what you use, e.g. new sites could pay maybe $10/mo, mid-sized pay $20/mo, and large sized pay $30, or some other variation.

Bit spendy!
Really great idea, but that is way too much to charge! And then what happens after the 3 months? And why only payments with paypal. It all made me question if this offer was even legit???

Kind of Expensive
Maybe if we read behind the lines, its sort of saying Wetpaint expects to earn about $20 from adsense per each wetpaint site a month. Considering they have +1000s of sites hosted here they would make a fortune. However we don't know the costs of maintaining this whole site, so for now I can't tell if they are making a profit or not.
I think a more suitable approach would be to charge members individually to not see ads site wide, more along the lines of $4.95 a month. People who aren't paying this would still see ads.
If I were paying 19.95 to remove ads, I'd pretty much expect to be able to insert my own google adsense ads into my own wetpaint site to cover the costs and that way everyone would be happy. Oh and free placement in Wetpaint Wikis sidebar :D
