"Apply to be a writer"?
Hi,
I am the creator of an "invite only" site and i wonder what happens if a registered user clicks on "apply to be a writer"? Does he become a writer then or do i first have to approve him as a writer then?
Greetings, RC-3125 Nils SWW Leader / Treasurer / Creator Star Wars Warriors gaming clan

I have a question...
Okay, I have been /trying/ to get ahold of one of my greatest members, Mistykit. She said she was going to be temporarily inactive, because she was making her own site, but I havn't heard from her. Is there a possible way to find her site without knowing the URL?

Inactive Creators
I'm a member of the Rizzoli & Isles Wiki http://rizzoliandisles.wetpaint.com/
The problem is that the creator hasn't been active on there since July, I've been updating the pages and adding new content but I'm just a normal member. Is there any way for me to get 'promoted' so I can change things? It's really annoying because I think it could be a great site!

I want to allow all members to add photos and videos but...
I want to allow all members to add photos and videos but not add or edit pages (unless creating an album is considered adding a page). Is this possible? If so please lead me though it step by step.

Picking the right People
What makes a Good Moderator? A good Moderator is someone with: Professionalism - They always speak properly, and users can easily understand what they are saying. A Sense of Style - Not Moderators wearing big feat

Deleting someone's profile
One of our members created a new profile by mistake, forgetting that she already had a profile in the group. She wants the most recent one removed because she can't seem to get into the group, and we think the two profiles might be the reason she is having difficulty. She did get one post from the older profile. Can I get rid of the profile she does not want?

Two administrators and Email
A colleague and I both need to be administrators of one of my Wetpaint sites. I am the creator, but is it possible for us to be sent emails to approve writers?
Thank you.

Moderator to Moderator on sites
I think moderators on a site might be well advised to keep each other informed when banning or unbanning members. Recently, a moderator unbanned a member several weeks after the ban.the member had been abusive - with many complaints to (and BY me) and I wasn't told about the unbanning - I found it out by accident. It made me feel superfluous and insignificant. the abuser had been banned by the above mentioned moderator to begin with. when I asked her about it, she said "some new information had surfaced" and so she unbanned him, but did not share any more with me - even though I had been involved in the complaints from members, as well as having been abused by the member myself.
I believe she is an excellent moderator and I am not trying to cause trouble -- I am seeking opinions or advice on how moderators might communicate with each other in a more productive way, and specifically not leaving another moderator out of the loop as I was, resulting in me losing some respect in the general wiki community.
Suggestions? Thanks

How many moderators should a wiki have?
We have a new wetpaint wiki The Borgias which is related in a way to The Tudors Wiki. The Tudors Wiki has over 4000 members. We are not as big as The Tudors wiki but it is very very possible that we will be wiith The Tudors ending. I do not want to make every single person a moderator. How many moderators are good per ratio of members so to speak?

Why You Need Moderators
Why do sites need Moderators? Moderators help manage and guide the community in addition to creating content for the site. Moderators can delete pages , lock pages from being edited , and move and reorganize pages on the site.

Ideas
I have an idea that when ever a moderator or an admin post a thread that their thread has a bit of a background. For example when an admin posts a thread, their thread has a gold background or border, when a moderator post a thread their thread (or reply) has a sliver background or border. This will help users know who is a moderator, who is an admin and who is not.
I also have an idea for a permission. Lets say you have a user who you want to moderate the forum, but they need to be a moderator (who can also edit pages). Instead of doing the trust way, telling them they can only moderate the forum and not editing (that leads to problems) why don't you make them a "Forum Moderator" who can have the same power as a moderator but only in the forum and can't edit pages.
One more idea, My other idea is that moderators (or Forum Moderator) can hide a thread making it say "The contents of this message has been hidden" so that we can just hide the message with out deleting it so the thread maker knows their message was hidden with a message from a moderator.
They are my ideas. Please reply if you like the ideas, say support and I will add you the the support list.

More participation by moderators
I would love to help with the question about sending attachments with messages and contributing anything else worthwhile, but I am in the process of learning how to use the computer, so I don't know much. Right now, I need to go to my Profile and attempt to send a message to All Moderators that my computer and I have been buried in an ice storm since Jan. 26. and offline until Feb. 12. When they finally got the computer on-line on Feb. 12, it has malfunctioned constantly. Much of the time I can't get to a site to check a watchlist, manage my mail, start any type of thread, etc., etc., etc. So maybe the moderators could help us out a little more, since I can't even get my computer to work properly.

Moderators
What is so special about Moderators? Wetpaint seems to love them and put them below Administrators! Administrators do more than Moderators on the sites I've been to. From what I've seen, it looks like Moderator's just a way of saying "lower-ranked Admin."

is creator the only title I need to be one of the members?
Or should I invite myself (via alternate email) to join as a different member with a different permission?
