Sharing ideas with new wetpaint wiki members/sites
We created a fan site for the Borgias over 2 years ago. For a long time we had less than 50 members. Then we started growing. We were at one time an official fan site for the series. Now we have almost 1,000 members and the cast of the series is so amazing that they come to chat with fans on the wiki several Sundays during the season. We have been nominated for wetpaint awards as well. We have contests where we give autographed photos from the cast members.
If you are starting a new wiki or have just joined a wiki have fun learning because it will grow. Don't give up. We have members who have excellent ideas and help inspire each other. Creative members blend well with the ones who have other types of vision on any wiki Check our wiki out at TheBorgias Wetpaint.com

Member filtering
Anyone else having problems with checking members filtering? It has a menu of filtering by name, date registered, activity and thread posts. Its only filtering by page activity. I use this to make spotlight on the members activity/thread posts and now I can't do that.

Creating a Good Welcome Message
How does creating a good welcome message help? A good welcome message is the key to site activity. Your welcome message needs to make users feel welcome, and help them navigate and use the site. If you include all the right things, you can lead th

Bulk add of members
I use my site with my students and want to know if there is a way to add students in bulk instead of having them join individually.
Removing/banning them at the end of the year in bulk would be nice too.

Ban IP
Is there any way you can ban a member's IP Address? Because I keep getting a member that will not quit advertizing porn on my site. BTW, I ban the member, and then they join again under a different username.

Member-restricted pages
Hello. Thank you for taking the time to read this. :) I just recently created a new site. I've had a lot of experience with wetpaint, but I still don't know if it's possible to make a page restricted to members, so lurkers and non-members are not permitted to view it. For example, I want to make the page that will contain the website's chatroom so only logged in members can view that page. I've heard something about gnome tables, but I don't know what they are. Any suggestions? Thank you again! - *~J

Site owner needs to Access email addresses of members invited??
I originally created my site as a private site. Since Wetpaint is no longer supporting private invites, I need to access my old "invites" list and get the email addresses of each member so that I can invite them to a new site. I used to be able to do this and now with the private/public changes I can't find where to go to get the emails I originally used to invite members?? Anyone have clues for this?
Hate to leave wetpaint, but can't make my site public to do invites. Lots of teachers will need to leave.

Delete wetpaint account
Can anyone tell me how to delete my entire account? I don't have a website or anything, I'm just a member and I don't need this account anymore. Does that make sense? Anyways, please and thank you anyone out there!

Entering a whole class
I am using Wet Paint as a teaching tool and will need to enter my entire class of 12 as members. Rather than do this individually, is there someone to enter them/invite as a group? Thanks

We want to REMOVE members, not ban them!
There really needs to be a member removal option (and being able to select multiple users at a time for this). So many wikis are setup for educational purposes and teachers need to be able to remove past students without having to ban them, or ask them to remove themselves. Please add this to the next update!

Use of Friends
I am using one of my sites for a private group to collectively work on a document. Is there any functional advantage to having everyone add everyone else as a friend? Also, can someone advise me how to send a blast email to all my members through the site. I thought I read somewhere that there is a limit. I can't find the help on this, and I can't find how to email everyone. Thanks

Wiki Spotlight
I was thinking, There are thousands (Even more) of wikis that have low members and yet, there are wikis that have a lot of members that have there own adverts! They have a lot of members already and what you are saying with those wiki adverts is "Join now! We have 2,000 members we need more!" How much greedier can you get?
So what I am saying is maybe once a week or month, You randomy select a wiki (One that not has a thousand members) for an advert on the great wetpaint wikis and some of the other wetpaint wikis can get more members so more people are happy!
Reply to this thread if you like the sound of a Wiki Spotlight!

How can I remove old members without banning them?
I want to remove lots of members from my wiki. I run a classroom wiki & many students are moving on. How can I remove them so they don't show up as members? I have tried banning them but they still appear as members.

Website Access
I cannot access my website unless I go to wetpaint.com first. This means that potential members will have that same problem. I don't want them to have that problem. How can I get direct access simply by typing in my website or URL?
