Wetpaint 500 Petition (Get it Back!!!)

I think they were taken away because...
For everyone complaining about why Wetpaint 500 and Golden Paint Can Awards was taken away... I think I know why.
I was a part of a site who really wanted a Golden Paint Can, and they wanted to beat WCC2 (Warrior Cat Clans 2) and be #1 in the top 500.
Well.. When WCC2 got a Golden paint Can and still held the rank of #1 while we didn't get anything and dropped down from #13 to #23, things went insane. Everybody on the site was making a bunch of hate threads and cursing out WCC2. I was the only one who stayed silent. I even got a few PMs from people that said "Maybe we should join that stupid site, and then when they trust us as admins, we'll hack the site and ban everyone and make it private! What do you think, Batty?" just because of that. (Don't worry, I didn't listen to them... Hacking is WRONG, as Lex Luthor would say)
Point is.. Wetpain 500 and Golden Paint Can Awards was taken down because of all the fighting and flame wars... Everybody trying to make their sites better just because they wanted the #1 spot.. And really.. Winning doesn't matter. That is probably why.. Because people got REALLY fired up in this competition, so they started FIGHTING for the #1 spot until it became really bad... So that's probably why.
Also, there are not enough wetpaint staff members to keep up with it.

Since my site appeared on this page year ago, search engines still returns http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Wetpaint+500 when my site name (or my name) is the query.
It is meaningless, and takes away clicks. This page does not have any function and should be deleted.

There is not any meaning to keep http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Wetpaint+500.
The decision is that this page relates to a meaningles function. Thus, there is not any reason to keep this page public. Clicking on this page is only a waste of time.

Suggestion (Serious Post!)
I have a suggestion for how the new system could work.
I run a Warrior Cats RPG site, and being grouped together with the things that the big fans don't care about, like True Blood or Top Chef, is frustrating. Most of us Warrior Cats RPGs, let's call them WC RPGs for short, are kind of competitive, I even know of happenings where another site will hack another to gain position (it actually happened to me).
Instead of grouping all the websites together, maybe it'd be best to categorize. I don't just mean how you categorize when you first make your website, I mean on purpose. And maybe multiple lists of what it counts. For example. . .
RPG Websites
• Warrior Cats
• Human Fantasy/Anime
• Video Game/Book
TV
• Weeds Fansites
• Dexter Fansites
etc
Also, in each big category just group them all together, like put all the RPGs together. Then, divide into the WC RPGs and do multiple lists. Activity, member count, even put up a five-star rating system.
Another suggestion - Personally, I don't like how Wetpaint displays all those big websites. It gives the smaller ones less of a chance.
So, maybe at the bottom you can put two random websites with, at least 100 members that isn't in the top 20 in their ranking in their category, in each category for half the day, and another in each category of one that's just starting (at the bottom of every Wetpaint page like you have now). This way, the smaller websites have more of a chance.
Or, put a "Websites you might also like"
I hope that's not too confusing, and I hope you take my suggestion.

Yes I know, I say alot of things here every so often, but anyways.
It seem`s^pretty much all the old threads here were either gloating or fighting. I think that the 500 thing was nice and all, but it was a visual conflict and war. But the brillant thing of sending out individual e-mail stating a numbered rank was a pleasent thing. Only the creator and his/her members knew the rank. I think maybe keeping that old statistic e-mail with the ranking would be a nice idea. So that personal sites could have an idea of where they stand statisticly.
Now as for ranking creativity, it can be done, but everyone muct understand it is a hard thing, and wetpaint is not an huge staff who has time to go through every site, view all their content, their activty. Because you realise, having to do this, you would manage to only have a top 500 once a year, or 2 years because of the amount, and growing amount of site. For the amount of member on this site, each one has their own site, maybe 2 or 3, and that alone could take years to look at. So I don't blame wetpaint for taking long, its a hard process to figure out and everyone need's to understand that. If you want something done up, why not help wetpaint instead of whine to wetpaint about how unfair it is.
If you really like your site, and think its great other will find it, and a good tip to do, is make friends who own similar sites and affiliate them, its the best way to get activity and friends. Because what is a number if your site isn't fun, and filled with people you enjoy to talke to?

As the page says, the Wetpaint 500 is no more.
We do not know if and/or when a new ranking system will be developed, but rest assured any news will be posted here.
Advertising is no longer permitted on Wetpaint Central, and all previous entries have been deleted as will future ones.

READ THIS WHOLE THING BEFORE POSTING!
I, Catnip Kitty, as I am known on Wetpaint, am simply shocked and very disappointed in you.
This started a while ago. You remember, oh, MSJ Gaming, correct? Remember when they sucked up to you? Well, apparently, you took it too personally. You started treating them better. Don't play dumb, you know you did. You also, oddly enough, started treating us worse, for this was the time we had a rivalry with MSJ Gaming. I'm really insulted.
We have not been treated the same since. You most definitely have tried your hardest to discreetly make MSJ look better than us. You make sure they are always in all contests, are a featured site, you even treat Madusha like the Prince of Wetpaint!! I'm disgusted, as many others are. We're rallying back. Withdraw your favoritism or I'll leave Wetpaint. I'll have been here for two years as of August 7th, 2008. I expect something to change by then.
This won't be the last of us. I'm not just biased and a sore loser. Others have noticed this shun of us by you. They will follow up on my posy by replying to this thread soon. We've stayed silent for too long. Finally, we're talking.
