  • Bug - registered member missing from members list On this wiki http://goldringhealingfountain.wetpaint.com/whatsnew a registered user that I promoted to moderator, Geoffbyrd who's profile can be found by searching the name under the members tab http://goldringhealingfountain.wetpaint.com/account/geoffbyrd is not listed on the site as a member for some strange reason. He did not cancel and was not banned. So why does his profile not show up on the list under members?
    Thank You

  • How do we create RSS feeds for our own Wiki's? I think the best way is to manually create a link to the /whatsnew/rss page from any page wanting to advertise the ability to subscribe to RSS updates from your site. The only other way is for users to navigate through, updates, click RSS Feeds button and then subsribe. Far better to create your own subscribe now button and link it... For example:

    Here's my Feed link: http://diveasia.wetpaint.com/whatsnew/rss

Here's a link to a page with a button using the page: http://diveasia.wetpaint.com/

Here's a list of of nice button images: http://images.google.co.uk/images?q=rss%20image&sourceid=navclient-ff&rlz=1B3GGGL_enTH266TH274&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi

    Hope this was useful

  • Community Activity In the "what's new" section of my wiki (http://mugustatia.wetpaint.com/whatsnew) under the "Community Activity" heading, I've realised that when a moderator, creator, or other member of the site edits another member's profile page (to remove inappropriate comments and such) it registers as if the person whose page it was made the edit. I am not bothered by this entirely, but I am afraid that it could be used to anonymously mistreat members of the site. I was hoping that it would show the actual member who made the edit instead of the owner of the profile page.

  • Virus Protection for Site Content You can view any sites activity by clicking the "What's new" button near the top of every page. As for viruses, every attachment is eventually scanned. Anything outside of Wetpaint eg. something uploaded to Driveway can not actually be scanned as it is not apart of Wetpaint. Administrators can view everything about users. Their IP, edits, comments etc. So yes, wetpaint is a very secure site that offers features to spot bad photos, virus scans and site reports.

Ronan - Why not try "Search this Wiki" in the top-left corner of the page? It will reduce thread numbers and give you more detailed information!

  • E-mail notifications I have read many of the posts about other users having e-mail notification problems and I have tried all of the suggestions; still, my e-mail notifications are not coming through. I am an educator and need this feature to work properly and consistently if I am going to use the account. Ideally, I would like an e-mail every time a student makes any changes at all to the wiki. I will not be able to use wetpaint in the classroom if that is not happening. Can anyone help me solve this problem?

  • HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe you typed it wrong.

Try using this, if that doesn't work, there could be a problem with your browser or computer. Are you using IE 7? If so, see if Firefox works for you.

  • advertising I've noticed that only sites with domain names, or they buy to advertise.
    Examples:

    http://psych-usa.wetpaint.com/whatsnew
    http://www.watchmen-movie.org/ (Domain name)
    http://www.thementalisttvshow.com/ (Domain Name)
    http://www.90210show.net/ (Domain Name)

They're all inactive, but are advertised. No offense to fans of these shows though/

  • Small business
"I have a small business, Cascade Caning Co., and I have never had a web
si0te. Would I fit in here? In my business I reweave antique chair
    seats, etc. Thanks Kathy"
Hi Kathy and all other Chair Caners!!

You might find my website extremely interesting for ways to promote your business. I've been in the wicker restoration, chair caning and basketry business for over 30 years and have had an informational website to promote and perpetuate those crafts. http://www.WickerWoman.com

Two years ago, I started a National Furniture Repair Directory that lists small businesses like yours in the fields of Chair Caning and Seatweaving, Wicker Furniture Repair, Upholstery and Furniture Stripping & Refinishing. For a very modest annual fee, you can get some terrific national exposure for your business (or hobby). No need to have your own website either, but it is another way of promoting it, to list on your ad. Must have an email addy, though. Check it out at http://www.WickerWoman.com/repairdirectory.html

Also in 2004, I began a Seatweaving Discussion Board Forum for Chair Seatweavers and Wicker Repair Specialists, where we can talk about techniques, materials, advertising, supply sources, etc. Please join us any time and either post your thoughts on the various topics or just lurk until you feel comfortable. There's also a SEARCH box so you can read all the past posts. Although there are now over 10,000 so you'd be reading for a long time to get them all. Hehehe! http://disc.server.com/Indices220033.html
