Widgets
What is a widget? Widgets are web-based tools and gadgets from other web sites that you can embed directly on your page. Like any application

What are "Other Widgets"? "Other Widgets" might include things like Flash games or other random widgets that aren't listed on our supported widget

Widgets
An understanding of Widgetbox may help. Widgetbox is a widget farm. Most of the widgets found there are created by persons other than the Widgetbox company. Sorta like Youtube videos. A couple of years ago, I would agree that there were more Flash generated widgets than javascript widgets found on Widgetbox. Today most of them are created via javascripted code. The format has changed also. If you look at a widget, if it is written in different formats, you will see a Flash code option available. It would be the middle of the 3 different codes normally shown. If you want a javascripted widget from Widgetbox or Google gadgets, you can add them to your wiki by following instructions outlined here. This method can be used for all widgets. The one shown is for Google gadgets and the only thing different is the terms used for getting the code. But placing the code onto a wiki page will be the same whatever the widget or gadget is.

There is NO code to add the widgets. I've been trying to add the photobucket, and others and it won't give me the code to post it. Only asks if I want to add a widget that's not already on the list.

widget
"Browse inside widget allows a person to preview books in digital format. When I tried to embed it in my site it didn't work. It has embed code for both flash-enabled sites and non-flash enabled sites. It would be great to have this widget available since my site is all about books. Any chance this will happen soon?
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" " The widget code that is needed is the one that reads "Other Sites (Flash-enabled sites)"
It appears from your post that you have the right code, but may not have gotten all of the code.
Copy that code and place that into OTHER WIDGETS of the Widget Tool in EasyEdit mode. That should bring a thumbnail to your page. when clicked on will open a new page for the book synopsis.
There are several lines of code.Make sure you've copied the code in its entirety, which can be done on most computers by triple-clicking on the code text, or by pressing CTRL-a (COMMAND-a on Macintosh) with the code text box selected.
Also, since this is a flash embedded code, make sure you have the latest flash player installed. This can be obtained at this location
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Hope this helps.

Some, but not all embedded music players work on Wetpaint sites. In order to put songs on your Wetpaint site they need to be hosted through a service where you can get a music player embed code (just like you would for YouTude videos). Some examples of music players that are compatible with Wetpaint are at http://odeo.com and http://www.RadioBlogClub.com. Once you have an embed code you can embed a music player on your site by using the new “Widget” feature on the EasyEdit toolbar (use the “other widget” selection for music players).

invalid widgets
Also, script widgets are not supported by wetpaint. The only widgets supported are Flash and IFRAME embedded codes. Currently, script and others like Java do not work on wetpaint.

Inconsistent Widgets
"Start by deleting the widget on the page and saving. Then get the code again from Slide and re-ad the widget. I recommend using the code they offer for use on Freewebs. I was able to add a Slide widget just fine on my test site." It worked, thank you!
Just for clarity, there was no need to delete the widget because it just wasn't there. And then of course there's the mystery of why I need to use the Freewebs code her but don't need it on my other Wetpaint site. But it's all good regardless. Thanks again.

Games widget
If you would like to add a games widget to your site then it needs to be an Embed code. Wetpaint can only support Embed codes and IFrames. To get the game you want search google/yahoo for, The game you want and Embed. That will bring up the embed code for the game you want. Copy that code and paste it into other widget.
Note: Not all games provide an embed code although most do.
