Wetpaint status?
I talked to Jeremy, the database corrupted, and that corruption affected the "slave" database leaving Wikis on Wetpaint without a solid database if I am not mistaken.

wetpaint status
I am a Brazilian instructor who gives a short workshop on how to create a wetpaint site, at a public library here in Brazil. At the end of the workshop, after practising a little, I motivate students to create their own wiki site. For doing so I follow all the process together with students and so they become the administrators of their sites. It so happened that one of my students created the site: http://alemdaqui.wetpaint.com , but for some unknown reason, a week after that when he signed in again, there are no administrator at the site, only registered users, including him. As he doesn't speak English, I am writing to you to ask for help. How can Mauro be the administrator of his site again and which wrong key could he have pressed to cause such a "bug"?

WetPaint Virus
Whatever you do, don't download the program it tells you to download.
Jeremy has updated a page, specifically for this problem, check it out for more information on this issue, it's happened to many people, including me.

Still no response on Educational Status
"Submitted twice now, now response. I don't understand." Have you had any luck on the educational status response? I am in a similar boat. I have tried to have two sites go through the process, one levelled at primary school and the second higher ed. (I am a technology lecturer with pre-service teachers.) I have posted two discussion questions but have not heard anything. I am about to faciliate a one week intensive on ICT in higher education and would like to show them WetPaint if it is ad-free and there is relatively no difficulty in getting the education status (if in keeping with the guidelines). PLEASE HELP.

Re-obtain Admin status
Hello,
Can anybody help me please? For some bizarre reason I managed to delete myself from my own wetpaint site, when | was trying to delete another member. Upon "rejoining" I am only a Registered User and thus the site has no Admin person. Therefore, I cannot block any unwanted users and essentially, I cannot manage my own site!

What happened to wetpaint?
"I was wondering the same thing. I had a website and now it's gone. Thanks for the warning!" Your problem has nothing to do with Wetpaint changing their home page. If you sign in at the top of the screen and go to your profile, it will list all the sites you have joined including your own.

Request for Wetpaint Central
Could it be possible to add another list to the gnPromoLnks section of the page HTML that would link to a page for system status (which already exists Wetpaint News) , so members would be able to see the system status easily from the Discussions area (or any page). This would help the community to see readily the status updates instead of posting threads asking about updates or having to search for them.
Here is the simple code that could be placed in the gnPromoLinks div.
<li class=""> <span > <a href="/page/Wetpaint+News">System Status</a> </span> </li> Here is what it would look like on the pages

Thanks for considering this simple adjustment to help out the community.

Wetpaint Really Needs Online!
"And Naru2008: According to Wetpaint, we may still get some features. I hope so. ;)" Chrisco97, can you point us to a thread where Wetpaint, has said we would get more features?
Or it it came by a message, can you paste the content of that message where WP made such a statement?
Or was Wetpaint referencing new features like FanTapper?
As far as an online/offline/invisible/away indications along with the ability to send messages to your friends and talk via voice to them, Splats2 can show you how to add a widget to your wiki to do so. This widget requires a microphone and speakers/headset. The widget can allow you to have 9 other friends to talk with each other via voice or text but it will show all your friends online status. Files can be transfered to one another with this widget. Let me know if you are interested in learning about this widget.
Don't wait for Wetpaint to provide any such feature. Splats2 has a great reputation for supplying the community solutions to unanswered suggestions that have been around since 2006.

Wetpaint site suggestions
A simple alert message inserted in the code between WPC-title and ul gnMain statements in the allcontentInner code would help the community immensely .For those that do not know WP code, the above will mean nothing. But you will understand by looking at a screen capture of what this alert message could look like.

Or a simple list class span code placed in the gnPromoLinks section linking to the home page of WPC to see the current status of Wetpaint.

Question About Wetpaint Site Inactivity
It takes at least a year of inactivity for a site to be deleted (http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/delete+a+site), so I suggest you "adopt" the site instead. Send an email to info@wetpaintmail.com explaining why you'd like to run that site. If wetpaint finds your reason adequate, they will give you Administrator status on that wiki.

Creating a Wiki with OpenId registration status failed
Creating a Wiki with OpenId registration status failed
========================================= Dear support @ Wetpaintcentral,
Creating my first Wiki failed. I have a Wetpaint account, based on OpenId. The Wiki Creation process asks for a password. I didn't find an option in the dialogue for authentification via OpenId. On the other hand, I couldn't create an extra password for my username in combination with my new intended Wiki. What do you suggest, in order to open my new wiki(s) under my established username? Thank you. -- YogaKarin

educator status - submit button doesn't work
A message should appear when you submit the form and the form should go away. The form is actually submitting the information to a non-Wetpaint site and it's possible that very strict browser controls might not allow that. Try again after clearing your browser cache and cookies. Instructions are on our Browser Support page at:
http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Browser+Support
Let me know what Browser version and OS you're using and if you're on a school network, too.

Petition to Wetpaint for Advanced Security to be Implemented
Early this morning an account was registered on the Zombie Survival and Defence Wiki. Within three hours 663 pages were created and filled with links to spam websites.
I am almost certain that this a spam bot.
Following the dilligent work of one of my moderators the pages have been removed, but the waste of time was ridiculous and unacceptable.
An obvious solution was to restrict the site to writers only, which I have done, however this will hamper growth in the long run and can only serve as a temporary solution.
In lieu of this I am making two suggestions to Wetpaint :
1.) A PROPER IP ban system.
Banning anonymous trolls is one thing, however why can we not I.P. ban registered users accounts? They can easily create multiple accounts which gives trolls/spammers etc. unlimited power against the actions of our moderator team.
My staff and I have discussed this issue with you in the past. However all we got was information about how to IP ban anonymous edits.
If we are to combat these more advanced spam bots and protect our users then we NEED access to stronger, more permenant powers regarding IP bans.
2.) Greater scrutiny in the creation of accounts and editing.
Currently siging up a wetpaint account is almost as easy as it is to create a Wetpaint site. I wish to see more security features against spam bots.
Also, I would like all sites to have an option to limit the amount of content a user can upload within a certain time constraint.
Wetpaint staff have always been attentive in the past to problems, and I trust that they will avail to ensure the Wetpaint Community is safe.
Thank you for your time spent reading this and for any resopnses which you make,
Marsden.
If you agree with the above then please show your support whilst we wait for Wetpaint's response.
