Permissions
Is it possible to grant permissions to certain sections/pages of a wiki to 1 person and grant permission to a different section/page to a different person? Where does one make these settings?

Permissions
There's nothing easy about customizing permissions. Aside from the technical issues, designing a UI for juggling the 400+ different things you can do on a wiki would be horrendous.
There is a large gap between Moderator and Administrator on Invitation and Private wikis. Administrators have full control over the wiki - they can change the Custom URL, edit the site greeting, modify the profiles of other users, change the permission scheme of the wiki - just like Creators. Moderators only have control over the content and Templates. Go to the Settings area of a wiki as an Administrator and compare to what's available as a moderator. I think you'll find there's a lot of difference.

Permissions
Users can only invite people at a lower level of permission than themselves. On Invitation-only sites, only moderators can invite people with the ability to make changes. Writers can only invite registered users and registered users can still invite others on Invitation-only sites, but only at the registered user level.
I'm confused as to why you'd want people to be able to edit, but not invite others. Can you explain?

Permissions
Do you want a page only moderators can see? Do you have secret things you do not want registered users to see? Well, a permission set page would be perfect! Any permission you want can see the page! Only Administrators? Just Writers? That is just perfect! Remember, permission pages!

Permissions
Scenario: I set up my Wiki using the following setting: "Everyone can view your website, but only members can edit or add pages to it." The website was created to support my ESL students: I am a community college instructor. I sent the students the url of the website via their email addresses and asked them to join. I did not use the "invite button." So far I have had sixteen out of twenty responses, with four to go. My question is this: did I use the correct setting or should I have used the more restricted setting: "Only people I promote to writers?" I want "everyone" to be able to see my site, but only members (both existing and yet to be invited ones) to be able to edit. This is because it is for my classes and I don't want other people editing these pages. I am afraid to make the change because of the following warning : Warning: Making this change could have a negative effect on some of your site's users. Be sure you are comfortable with the repercussions of blocking access to some features for some users and granting access to others. Sorry for the length of this post, but it took that long to explain it. Thanks in advance for your help

Invite permissions
I am trying to resume use of my private class wiki, but when I send an invite, I don't get a permission level checkbox and my invitees get an invite, but cannot enter the site.

User permission
There is no way to change your own permissions. You can cancel your membership, then ask a Wetpaint Administrator to change your role to Administrator on your site.

Changing Permissions
Hello, I have looked through all the Q & A's and many, many pages of threads for the answer to my current issue. When I attempt (as the creator) to change the permission of a newly registered user (this is a private invitation only site), I get the appropriate screen for information change. However as soon as I hit the new status button, a drop down message box appears. At this point the cursor cannot access the button at the bottom of the screen which actually allows me to change the permission level! I don't know why this is happening or how to resolve this crazy problem. Is this my equipment problem or what? Any guidance, advice or suggestions will be sincerely appreciated. thanks in advance, Sandi M.

User Permissions
We should be able to Select what certain user can do Instead of the Site Permissions, What if there is something you dont want a user to do, but you want to give them that permission?
Thanks,
JB

Custom permissions
I just got this random idea, and sorry if it's been posted before, but I don't think it has been.
I think we should be able to customize a person's permissions. So you could allow a person to move and delete threads, but not access any of the site settings. You could have them send messages to RUs, but not be able to edit locked pages.
