  • Renaming Homepage I am not trying to rename my URL. I simple want to edit a misspelling in the title of my homepage. At each attempt it indicates that, "A page with that name already exists. View that page or try a different name." I view the page that supposedly has the name i've chose, yet none is found. I have tried countless names, none of which are found searching Wetpaint, but they still don't register.

"It looks like you renamed the page using only a period, which causes a known bug. We are working on a fix for this. FYI everybody - don't rename pages to a punctuation mark. Stick to words."

Can you give me an idea how long the fix will take ?

Is it possible to replace the page from your side ?

    Thanks

  • Renaming Threads
"Click 'Edit Post' on the start of the thread if you started it. But it won't change other people's replies. "
There is no decisive way to rename a thread, however, the subject, category, and, in general, the entire thread can be deleted.

To change the subject, merely click "Post Reply" and in the SUBJECT box change the title of the thread. That way, in future replies, the Subject will be what you put there.

    See: http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/photo/7197605/Thread+Subject

I understand that it wont change the title of the thread, but by changing the subject, people may get a better understanding of what your getting at, per say.

As for your other inquiry, on how to edit your post, merely click "Edit my Post" which is found in parentheses next to the time of the post

    See: http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/photo/7197643/Editing+a+Thread+Post

  • Renaming Page ... Template Links When I went to rename a page, it gave me a list of pages that contained links to the soon-to-be-renamed page. As I click on them to update, I noticed that one of the links was a template (not a page). However, the link to the template still listed it as a page. The url looked like this (http://waggonerlibrary.wetpaint.com/page/Staff+Weekly+Schedule) when it should've been (http://waggonerlibrary.wetpaint.com/template/Staff+Weekly+Schedule).

  • Unable to rename page I cannot rename page in my Wiki (url http://eder617summer08.wetpaint.com). I have tried both Internet Explorer 7 and Mozilla Firefox 3.0.1. The page I'm trying to rename is at http://eder617summer08.wetpaint.com/page/Discussion+Questions. My OS is Windows XP. I have tried multiple times over the past three days but continue to receive the same error message.

Wetpaint checks for linked pages (there are none), I type in the new name (Discussion Question 1), click "Rename page" but then get this message:

    Oops!
We're sorry you found an error with our site. We're working hard on improvements!
Please return to the home page or send us an email describing the problem you found.
If you continue to have problems, please try clearing your cookies and restarting your browser.
    — The Wetpaint crew

I have cleared cookies and restarted browser x 3, to no avail.
Thankfully I am able to edit pages and re-order with no problems.

    Thanks for looking into this.
