hey ive noticed that you can promote your site using badges if you type in [your wiki url]/promote and select a badge...i wonder if you could add those in your comments in a signature that would be pretty cool

Promoting websites
Lots of keyword tags can actually hurt your search results as search engines consider it to be keyword stacking.
Use a specific set of keyword throughout your site,a nd make it a small, effective, and descriptive list. Make sure your page titles contain those keywords. Make sure they're on your homepage.
Also, be sure to use the wiki promotion tools that are available in the Promote area of your site. We designed those tools based on our knowledge of what works for the wikis that are top-ranked by search engines.
It is entirely possible to have great ranking in search results. Do a search for James Bond Wiki on google, and the first entry is a Wetpaint site, above the Wikipedia entry. Do a search for Zombie Survival and the first result is another Wetpaint wiki, above the links to the official sites for the books of the same name.
Patience is also important. Search engines don't refactor their results immediately, especially if you're in a crowded space.

Problems with promoting site and submitting it to the search engines
The code for Wetpaint sites is not user configurable so you would not be able to add the .txt file. Wetpaint site are search engine friendly and our product development team is always working on ways to optimize Wetpaint sites for better search engine pickup. The best thing you can do to get your site picked up by search engines is to focus on adding quality content to your site and encouraging others to contribute to it and link to it. Having external links that point to your site will go a long way towards getting your site noticed by the search engines.
Make sure you promote your site through any bulletin boards you visit or take part in, especially if they have relevance to your site's topic. Also, add the link to the signature on your e-mail, business cards (if you have them), or create banners. Post the link so that people are aware of it. Your site will eventually gain traction and move up in the search results as you do these things.

The Promote Page Added to Navigator
Hi, can you add the promote page to the Navigator. It would be nice not to have to create a page, call it promote in order for it to be added to the navigation bar.
I think a lot of sites would use it, I haven't seen to many with it on their nav bar.
My wiki is custom and my promote page link is http://www.theegopages.com/promote.

Promote link has gone
I tried using the link to go to the Promote section. While the link still works, it runs rather slow, and when I reached the page nothing was there. This would mean that the Promote section of the site has likely been removed.

I believe the best thing you could do is add tags to all of your pages.

You are allowed to have ads on your site, but you are not authorized to make any income or profit from the advertisements directly, if it is an advertisement selling a product, that is fine, but if you earn money just for having the advertisement on your site, that is not authorized!

Advertising your site
Hey guys, I deleted this page. Unfortunately we can't allow advertising your site on Wetpaint Central. Wetpaint Central is primarily for getting help with using Wetpaint, suggesting features, and reporting bugs, etc.
We have had over half a million sites created on Wetpaint. It just isn't feasible to et every one advertise their site here.
