  • Delete Version No, not a bug. When you have a wiki site, you may have more than one person that can delete page versions. It's important to have some record of what was deleted by who and when.

  • deleting page There ‘should’ be the words “More Tools” at the top of the page; Click on that, then select “Delete Page.” While you’re at it, mash and trash it:
    1. Go to the page in question (if locked, un-lock it for the time being);
    2. Click the "Easy Edit”;
    3. Hit Control and then A (select all)
    4. Hit the backspace button (to delete all the text)
    5. Save this;
    6. Edit the page again by adding one word;
    7. Save this;
    8. Delete all previous version of the page (in the page history);
    9. Rename the page;
    1Ø. Again, edit the page to add one (pointless) word;
    11. Delete the page itself;
    12. Change or remove all tags;
    13. Lock (or re-lock) the page.

    Now no version of the page will ever again exist on your site. It would take a moderator or above to even TRY to re-construct it, and one should be able to presume safely that if the Creator mash and trashed the page, it’s gone. For real and for good- And for a reason.

  • Can't delete one page. http://wikinrete.wetpaint.com/page/Chat
    I've created a page where I placed both Meebo and Gabbly widgets, now only the Gabbly widget shows up and everything disappeared in the left and right columns.
    I wanted to delete the page but the "easy edit" in that page doesn't work.
    Could you help me?
    Thanks,
    Gianna

  • New Location for Restoring Deleted Pages It seems (I'm not a Wetpaint expert by the way) that the option for restoring deleted pages is no longer located in this "To-Do's & Activity Reports" area. I found this option by clicking on the "What's New" tab at the top of my wiki and then on the "Pages" tab on the "What's New" page. I think that this is true for the latest version of Wetpaint and that the instructions above may be true for those who have an older version.

    Again, I'm not an expert on using Wetpaint, but I hope this information helps anyone who might have been experiencing the same problem as me.

    Happy page restoration to you!

  • I Deleted my teams page Only moderators and up can revert the information back. If you are a moderator or up, you can use the revert option to revert the page back. If you are not, you can go to an older page version and copy and paste all the old information back to the page. The older page version can be found on the Page History at the bottom of a page.

  • Deleting Photo We're having the same problem with our new site. We can easily just save a smaller version of the picture on our computer, but how do we delete the one that's already on our home page (and refuses to leave the home page, even though we've already deleted the photo from the Gallery)? Then we could just add the smaller version of the picture ourselves.

  • a delete button!!!!!
    "This is a serious flaw with Wetpaint. We have private student information someone (a student contributor) posted to our wiki, and there's no way to remove the information PERMANENTLY. to protect the students' privacy. Deleting it from the page leaves it in the page history, and deleting the page simply moves it to the Uncategorized area, where the information is still accessible. I'm rather shocked that Wetpaint hasn't fixed this problem yet. -T"
    The capability to delete pages from the page history has been around for a long time.

    The way to delete a page and its versions, so no information will be seen by others, with the exception of a moderator or above is to follow these steps below:
    1. Remove all information on the current page and save the page. This will save a blank page.
    2. With moderator or above privileges, go to view page history.
    3. To the left of the date/time and above the first page revision entry shown there is a down pointing chevron. Left mouse click that one time, This will expand all revisions of the page history.
    4. Notice, under each entry in the history, there is a "Delete this version" button.
    5. Click the delete this version button for each entry in the history. This will apply a strike through on each of the page revisions deleted,
    6. Only a moderator or above, will be able to restore a deleted page from the history. The general public will not be able to view anything in the page history list.

    Hope this helps with removing instances of personal information that resides on that students page

  • Bug with viewing the changes on a page / comparing versions of a page? Lately when I look at the changes made on a page or I try to compare different versions of a page using the compare feature on the wikis, I get this bug. It used to show added text in blue and deleted text in red with a strike-through. Lately, I do not get any coloring, but I do get the strike-throughs. This makes it much harder to easily see the changes made to a page. All you have to do to reproduce it is so compare versions of any page on my wiki.

  • Search engines find back-level and deleted pages I don't know if this is a bug or a suggestion, but I've noticed from sitemeter that people have been entering my site via search engines picking up old versions of pages I've deleted (I deleted these pages when reorganizing the board and condensed the content onto other pages). Anyway, when I clicked on the link that came up in the search, there was no indication at all that it was a back-level page.

    Maybe there's nothing you can do about the search engines finding these pages - I don't know - but what I tried to do was add a comment on the deleted page to direct anybody who gets there to the location of the current page. Instead, the comment only showed up on the "current version" of the page, which is the "deleted" page that nobody can see.

    FYI, this is the page that showed up in a Yahoo search:
    http://bostonlegal.wetpaint.com/page/Meredith+Eaton-Gilden/revision/5
